Simple Question About Grading / Colour LUT's

Community Beginner ,

I'm probably asking a silly question, because the answer is more complicated than I imagine, but I'd like to achieve a colour look like this.

Is there a LUT preset which will get me close?

Get into Comparison View, Match Color, then add a SL "GOLD" LUTGet into Comparison View, Match Color, then add a SL "GOLD" LUTCS,

Actually, you need the "Shoot in Italy" filter. LOL.

Try this: do a match color function to get the tones right. Then, try something like SL GOLD WESTERN at around 70%. That should get you in the zone with a stock LUT. Show us the results.

BTW, my "comparison" shot was one I took with my iPhone 6S Plus in Florence, Italy. I used the "Shoot in Italy" filter, you could say.

Regards,
Kevin

Oh? Thank you. It's from a 4K video clip I shot while enjoying a beer at a cafe just outside the Ufizzi Gallery. I see an attractive couple and fired off a shot. I just couldn't help myself. I'll try and post the entire clip when I get home. The shot looks pretty good even without a grade. 😉

The Adobe Capture app for phones is a great way to create LUTs for various looks. Find an interesting scene color/tonal-wise, take a pic in the Looks section of Capture. You get a bunch of options of various ways the hues can be related ... pick one, maybe do a bit of modification in the app, then save it to your CC Libraries.

Open up Premiere, there it is in the Library section.

1. play around with lowering the curves blue top point output to lower kelvin response,

2. then warm midtones by raising curves mid red and lowering mid blue,

3. then set saturation/hue with hue/sat, hue/hue(skin tone line). and with hue vs lum, lower the luminance to get a softer chroma response.

these 3 should be able to give you almost any look you want as they work in a 3-d way.
