Simple Scrolling Text in PP 2025

I am suffering through yet another gratuitous UI change that turns what was for decades a simple task and turned it into a convolute MESS.

I just want to create a simple scrolling text graphic at the end of a video.  I have gotten to point where I can do most of the actions in the properties panel but I can't get a smooth scroll from the keyframes--it just jumps when I set a keyframe for the entering postion and then another for exiting frame position.  There is no "scrolling" checkbox like there was in the past--it is not on my properties panel.  There is something called velocity it but doesn't make any movement happen.

Can somebody reply with the simple (4-5 step) checklist of how to create  a simple scrolled text title like I have been doing for decades in previous versions.  Most of the instructional videos are useless since there have been so many radical changes in how to create simple text in the last few years.

Yes thanks for the pointer(s).

I tried to figure out a way to use the default "Responsive" mode.  A couple of times when I was experimenting I accidently dragged the text diagonally it created a smooth motion.  My theory was that if I dragged the text vertically I might be able to create the equivalent of a roll,  but I couldn't hit on the right sequence of steps to even recreate my diagonal motion accident.   Like most of you I just want to get my work done so experiment time is over.

@John Ellenberger,

You must deselect the text. See the screenshots in this post:

Getting the roll controls to appear is to me, entirely counter-intuitive. And yea, you have to follow the precise steps in Stan's link.

Not a fan of that bit of UI mis-design myself.

It would be nice of some of the Youtubers did accurate videos on doing these simple tasks in the new ridiculously overcomplicated obtuse UI.  The only ones I found weren't even correct on the first step (i.e. creating the text).

...and in closing.  Dear Adobe: please offer early retirement to whatever product manager approved of this last round of changes.
