Spinning wheel

Community Beginner ,
Nov 14, 2018 Nov 14, 2018

I have a problem which is occurring in both the current version of Premiere and 2018. After opening a project, when I try any function with the mouse such advancing on the timeline or accessing a menu or even moving to another panel, I get a spinning color wheel for about 4 seconds. Then I can try another action and get the same problem.

I was am using a Mac Pro

3 GHz 8-core Intel Xeon E5

48 GB DDR3

AMD FirePro D700

I was on High Sierra

Upgraded to Mojave to see if that helped.

It didn't.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Before I ever started this post I tried all the usual methods of working out these problems. I trashed preferences, check drive space, etc. even to the point of uninstall/reinstall of Premiere. No success.

Then, I found that another editor had installed INSTA360 Stitcher, which is an unrelated application.

As soon as I uninstalled that software... everything is back to running smoothly.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Does the spinning wheel stop at some point? Or do u need to restart PP

If it goes away after a few seconds I find its normal as PP tends to "hang" slightly as its loading up Video drivers at the end. I have experienced this myself until I found a stable driver (which wasn't the latest one)

If you have to restart PP I would recommend uninstalling with Adobe Cleaner Tool AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.dmg

making sure you allow for it to also remove references. Reinstall PP

Let me know how it goes
