SRT export not retaining formating/fonts

New Here ,
Sep 24, 2021 Sep 24, 2021

I have a project in which I imported an .srt file.  I needed to make some changes to the subtitles.  Once done, I exported a new .srt file from my project.  When I apply this new .srt file to another project, the text changes are in the new file, but my font and font size changes are not.  Am I doing something wrong?

When you export srt from the Text Panel, it includes "styling." When you export from the Export Media settings, you have a choice not to include. But the only styling included is VERY limited.

See this post about srt and stl exports and styling:

Just adding on to Stan here in that .SRT's are typically used in closed captioning, and the font/styling is determined by the platform that runs the captions: YouTube, the TV broadcaster, etc. It's a utilitarian function, which is why you don't get the full control over it that you would if you were burning your captions into the video. Then you can do whatever you want.
