Strange grey mask

Hey guys!

I wanted to try using a mask in a video. I watched a bunch of tutorials on how to do it. But when I started doing it myself, the area around the mask or inside is just gray, although I just needed to make a slight darkening around the edges to highlight the object. Can you please tell me how to turn this off?

Your issue might have to do with the effects underneath the Lumetri effect? Same issue if you change the order of the effects?
