Syncing audio between two clips in different languages?

New Here ,
Mar 31, 2019 Mar 31, 2019

I have a project I need to get done, and I need to sync audio between those two. They have different languages, but they have similar sound effects in them at the same time they are supposed to have it, meaning only the language is different.

I also want to add that I want to add that, I want the video to one video, and keep the video audio to my other source. Is this possible to archieve and match them up correctly so it's timed well?

yes. you can do that. Let's say in video 1 the language the actors speak is English. Their mouths move and the sound is recorded according to the language they are speaking.

Then there is another video ( video 2 ). Now the actors are speaking French. Their mouths move and the sound recorded is French.

Now you make the two videos on your edit and the mouths moving match the language they are speaking. How cool is that ??

Then there are other sounds … like 'sound effects'... at the same time they are supposed to have it. I guess this would be like a door closing in the shot, or a dog barking, or something like that ?  Easy... just include the door and doggy sound in both videos !!!

Other than that I think there is a thing called 'subtitles' or whatever they call it... where a film is shown in a specific language ( their mouths move according to that language ) BUT since people watching the video don't KNOW that language, there is text that appears ( usually at the bottom of the frame ) which tells the audience what the actors are saying.

I don't think the dog barking or the door closing needs to have a specific text to describe it... cause most people recognize when Rover barks or a door closes..

I just remembered... I think it's called 'captions' not subtitles.. like closed captions or open captions ???

Well, how do I do this? I tried to use the "Synchronize" feature but it didn't sync since obviously it's in two different languages.

You may have to sync manually.

I actually find it faster.

Aw, are you 100% sure? It would be amazing so I wouldn't have to do 500+ episodes manually

Your question doesn't make sense. You ask about audio sync between two (different?) videos but have not explained how your audio is structured. Are the dialog and FX tracks separate? Are you trying to do ADR dubbing with lip sync?

If the audio is an ADR dub then it should be timed exactly the same as the original, so just line up the start. If it's not, you will need to cut and stretch everything to fit and there's absolutely no "automatic" solution for that.

for you it doesn't make sense but for other people it makes sense, because when you have 400 episodes of a series or film to translate while you have the video in 1 language that you didn't understand and you have a video in language that you understood with poor quality you wanted to have it in good quality to understand what is being said!!!

I'm sure I've always been able to do it quicker than PP can.
