TextBox (not caption) transitions are not working for Barn Doors & Radial Wipe

Certain transitions stopped working.  I've tried to use them for textboxes (not captions), but no effect.  When using the transition to make the text appear, no effect.  The box isn't visible until once the entering transition time is complete, the box appears just appears.  The exit transition has no effect, just disappears at the end of the transition.

I have already cleared the media cache and uninstall/reinstalled Premiere Pro.  Other transitions work, just not these, but for the nature of my videos, I prefer these transitions.  Any advice is appreciated.

Transitions are designed to work the entire frame.

Your text is just a small part of the entire frame, that is why you dont see the effect properly.

Use masks instead.

Just look where the text box is situated opposite the transitions.

I'm not understanding.  I made the video below to hopefully better convey the issue.  You can clearly see where the "wipe" transition has an effect, but the "barn doors" wipe does not.  I did notice that when creating a text boox and putting the "wipe" transition in, there are no red bars above, but when putting in the "barn doors" transition, there are the red bars above.  I did a rendering, but to no effection.  

What is the "masks" you're referring me to?  I'm looking at the text box and the two transitions, but not seeing in what way it would "situated" differently.  Tutorial videos on the transitions don't go into much detail to help me better pin point how to make further adjustments.  I appreciate the help.

I do not understand why you see no action for the Barn Doors. In the "actual sources" test in your first video,  you can see the transition operating correctly in the small upper box. As Ann says, it operates full screen (from the middle of the frame out). So if the text is to the left or right, just use the plain Wipe transition.

Barn Doors and Radial Wipe are not accelerated effects unless they are being used in 32 bit. The plain Wipe is accelerated. That is why you see the Wipe with a Yellow render status and others in either Red (unrendered) or Green (rendered).

The most likely reason for not seeing the effect is render status, so Peru Bob's advice regarding clearing the cache etc is good.

If you want to test further, yes, you can export a small section and see what you get. Or I would create a new test project and try the effect there.

It's working now, and I don't know why.  All I did was give up on this for a week.

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

Then try pressing Enter to render the timeline and turn the red line above the timeline to green.

Ah.  Found that.  Green bars instead of red.  Then green bars all thru.  No change in the preview.  Do you think it would be different if I exported it?
