The Ability to Align and Transform Text in Premiere Pro 2025

Community Beginner ,

I would like to ask that "Essential Graphics" be returned to the workspace in Premiere Pro 2025. It was in Pro 2024 and on the right side of the Main View with Effects, Lumetri and other tabs. According to Kriti and what I found it, it was removed from the right side panel. With Kriti's help we were able to find what I've been using by adding Properties to the right side of the page. I use the centering of Text to the Program monitor (align and transform) and it disappeared from its normal position with the change of Pro 2024 to Pro 2025. I feel this is an important feature to have readily available as it was also easy to use - being able to center Text to the frame both vertically and horizontally and align the text to fit to the frame.

Annoying for me, I've just bought premiere and now thinking of getting rid of it, makes it extremely hard for someone who has just started when you have to consistently change what you've learnt, I've been here for an hour just trying to align all my text to the center at once

None of these programs can or will stay the same forever. They have to change as the needs, wants, and capabilities of hardware and users constantly change.

Yes, it's annoying at times. But absolutely necessary.

For stills in the timeline use the guides in the Program Monitor.

Wrench > snap in Program Monitor.

It has taken me HOURS to figure out that you cannot align graphic elements any longer. You must manually align them to a guide. It wasn't broken...why 'fix' it Adobe? PLEASE bring back Essential Graphics and save us some time here. Thanks.

Um ... others are doing this ... it's still possible.

Go back to the first page of this thread, and look through Ann Bens' posts. She show how with pics. It's entirely doable still.

All I want to do is align a piece of text and an image in the middle of the screen, and I'm very disappointed to see that you can no longer align things. Very frustrating for something that should be simple.

Of course you can still align things! Please read the above posts. It's only a slightly different process.

Especially if you add the image as a graphic to the text graphic ... but even if you have it on a different track, easy enought to select both and animate.

So when I go to properties - it only shows 2 options (Transform and Responsive Design)

But if I click on the text - then it opens the 4 options - 3rd one being the 'Align and Transform'

Bit of a pain to find - was way better on the first text page instead of having to dig through menu layers as it's used every time I use text

Definitely agree that it's more of a pain, as it's more steps to get to.

Yeah, i completely agree, having essential graphics right there in the workspace made everything so much easier.

Why are you using three tracks for a single graphic?

Those should all be in the same graphic on one track. Create one, then using the Properties panel just like you used the ESG before add another layer to the graphic. Put each on it's own layer in that graphic, then select and align.

Thank you for that explanation of the new metaphor. And looking over my video. I will do as you suggest.

But here is my problem: I couldn't remember where my graphic elements were hiding [on one track], so I took the extra time to split them out so next year (for example) I can find them easily when I open this project for reuse.  Why does a date string that changes often have to be buried in the same track that has graphics that may not ever change, even though they must all be aligned and distributed for my design to work?

I use nested sequencing for my individual graphics - so I can find them and control them separately - I guess that feature can be removed with this new metaphor too?

This forum thread is screaming for a return of this feature - but the expert support here wants us to follow what some small group of artists - probably very good ones in their field - say "we don't need". I have seen this many times over the 20+ years I have used Adobe Premiere, and most changes to the menus and workflows are usually very good, even when an inevitable handful of users complain at first. Yet this change away from the essential graphics menu seems very limiting, addressing only a small number of very simple graphic use cases for videos that have a short shelf life.

How about moving forward with other complaints in this area of alignment (not on this thread or even at this time), beyond even the support you lost with the "essential graphics" menu, by offering the "Photoshop Align and Distribute" metaphor - thus simplifying the user learning curve on your Creative Suite while bringing even more power and time savings back to users.

I dont know what feature you want back but the Propeties panel has the same features as the Ess Graphics but somewhat different layout.

You  can align on the red guides from the snap feature in the Program window and you also can align on the blue guides you can make yourself.
