I'll make this a simple question lol. OK, time ramping I want to preform is, in one clip, that I found impossible 2 do, I want to ramp up speed of clip from 100% to 1020% in a 1 minute then stay at 1020x until the last 100 seconds then ramp down to 100% so as to be in "speed sync" with the next clip. I found that impossible to do because I think PP thinks I ran out of video in the timeline so it shows black (it may be a fact). I just cant do a ramp up then a ramp down on one clip. SO! My work around is, since I have no problem with the ramp up to 1020% and the problem starts after last keyed point of that 1020% ramp up, my program monitor goes black. So the work around is to cut at that 1020% point(where the monitor goes black) and then for the duration of the portion I want at 1020% I just use the regular speed/time adjust. The ramp down I manipulate the 3rd clip which is at 1020x speed (that matches the previous clip speed) from 1020x down 10% using the ramping feature. For some reason the monitor doesn't go black again. So I must NOT have enough video to accomplish "my mission"lol. It took me hours but I finally got what I wanted but I had to cut the clip into three so I could have a ramp up on one clip, the 2nd clip was a simple sustained speed situation and the 3rd clip had the ramp down so as to match the next upcoming clip. WHAT A MESS!
Now my question to the community is IS THERE A SIMPLER WAY OF DOING a ramp up, speed sustain AND a ramp down all on one clip only! ?
I think I see whats happening but its really hard to munipulate time with such crude tools. As u know u cant type in a speed or time in for time remapping its all done graphically and thats very hard to accomplish.
And my really big problem is I must do this again and again and I cant nest it b/c the times are slightly differant.
PP is a great tool and I enjoy it for about 4 hours everyday for 10 yrs now but the learning curve is worse the AE @ times. But I set a goal for myself to learn time remapping because I need it badly for years and Ive always avoided it at the cost of crappy videos. That time over, I must learn it now.

You can do this with Time Remapping keyframes in Premiere Pro.
If you need more control and precision, I recommend using Time Remapping in After Effects. It also has much more intuitive controls than Premiere Pro.
Hereās a guide to Time Remapping in After Effects.

Thnx PaulMurphy. I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I have figured out that the black/blank video Im seeing is because I simply ran out of time to munipulate on that clip. Its very very very sensitive. I have and do use AE but I think Im using CS4 version. Yes it only handles 1920x1080 but I only use it (now) for producing the cycling profile videos that I neatly tuck into the corner of my 4k videos. And I only use AE for maybe 2hr max every month or just the beginning of each video project so its rwally not worth paying for the latest version of AE yet. I am running out of time because my AE CS4 will not run on Win 11. So I must pull out my Alien m17r2 (with win10) and produce the video on AE then transfer to my Alien m18r2 (win 11). Its a pain in ass to do but it saves me what $30/month paying Adobe for "renting" AE.
Anyway thats for the reply, now I have another problem and that is copying the time remapping from on clip to another. I sync 2 differant clips that are superimposed on the original time remapping clip. I need them to be in sync perfectly and they AINT!? close by not really. I'll get it, its part of the learning curve. Soon 2 b forgotten again (maybe). Since I open this "can of worms" I want to continue using time remapping because I want my text on some portions of the video to enter at 100% speed the slowly slide into position in the center of the video. It looks bad the way I have it now (for the past 5 year). It shoots in from the one side and suddenly stops in the center screen. To me its very annoying so to have the text slide in slower and slower until coming to a complete stop would be eye pleasing.
Anyway I'm babbling
Thnx 4 ur time

When push comes to shove, ultimately my problem was a compatibility issue. Premiere pro does NOT like gopro H.265 compressed format. Nor did it like a .gif file I was trying to remap. I googled " why does clip disapear in time remapping premier pro" and the 1st answer was incompatibility . so I rendered the .gif file and it worked perfectly. The problem I was having and caused me to write this post was a CS4 AE file. When time remapping it would just disappear. So a week later and learning about incompatibility ussues I ran the problem videos thru the media encoder and BOOM! It fixed my problems. ALL THE PROBLEMS! DUMMY ME!
Im passing this on to others who may have disappearing video on thier program monitor when editting. A time comsuming yet simple remedy. I hope someone can use this knowledge.
