Toggling the start and end point of the lightning effect

Hello, I am editing a boxing video and I want to use the lightning effect for one of the punches. I am attempting to have the lightning rod connect with both the glove and where it strikes and adjust along a path as the glove moves through the air. The first time I try to adjust the start point of the lightning rod with the next keyframe it works perfectly, however, in the second keyframe, when I adjust the start point, the start point indicator moves where I direct it to, but the lightning rod does not and remains still in the same position as the last keyframe. Do I have to continuously adjust each additional point as I move the rod through more and more keyframes? In other words, how come the rod won't move with my starting point adjustments in each new keyframe?

Hi. Did you ever figure this out? Or is it a bug?

I found that you can't keyframe the start/end points when Lightning is being used on an adjustment layer. It does work properly when used directly on a video clip or with a generated transparent video segment though.
