Video clips in date order in timeline

Contributor ,

Hi guys, I was wondering if there is a quick way or a solution for this:

I have lots of clips, which were shot in order and date. I would like to put them in the timeline in chronological order, but if I drag them like that in the timeline the order is random... Would be nice to avoid setting them one by one, there are too many.

Thank you

The way you select in the Project window determines the order.

Order the clips how you want them in the Project window.

Select first clip,

hold down shift,

select last,

drag into timeline.

If you select last one first then the order will be reversed.

If you use the ctrl key you can select random and drag them in that order to the timeline.

Instead of using the keys you can also lasso but the way you lasso also determines the order in the timeline.

Thanks Ann ! it works with some clips, not all of them, probably because premiere recognize the numbers and not the date, that's kinda frustrating

Ok ok , I got it... I renamed all in once the clips, and then sorted them in premiere by media start and it works !

Thanks guys
