Hi
My latest video clips which are imported into the new Premiere 2020 show the videos at double the speed! There is nothing wrong with these clips. They are playing fine in an external video program. These same clips also played perfectly in Premiere 2019 (which I can no longer go back to.)
When I start Premiere, it shows me a screen showing a system compatibility report (see below) saying that my driver is an unsupported driver and I must expect problems. I click on the fix option and go through the steps to download what Adobe assumes to be the correct driver, but the computer doesn't recognise that driver even for itself and so doesn't work.
The system is using the NVIDIA GeForce 820M card and I have further details of the part number and device ID if that would help anyone to help me. I tried to install the latest driver for this card, but it does not help.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue (if indeed it is the card causing a problem)? I am unable to use Premiere again since this upgrade and I am stuck!
If I cannot get help here - is there any way to forward a query like this to Adobe themselves?
Thank you

Update Nvidia driver or perhaps your card is no longer supported.

Check Audio Hardware in Pref. and set input to non.
Uncheck Color management and H.264 acceleration in Pref also.
Sure you can go back to 2019, use the latest saved 2019 project or
Open a New Premiere Pro Project on an Older Version! Mac
Open a New Premiere Pro Project on an Older Version! Windows
If you cant Adobe support: Contact Customer Care (on monday).

Thanks Ann. Your effort in helping is amazing!
I did install that driver, and for some reason, the system doesn't recognise the driver as being the correct one.
I set audio hardware input to non. Color management is off. I did off the acceleration. All this so far.
Computer with both 2019 and 2020 gone in for repairs. Downloaded Premiere 2020 on another computer meanwhile. It automatically downloaded this version. There is no 2019 to download (from what I can see.) I have no choice but to use 2020.
Video doesn't play at all now.

Guess what? That GeForce 820m is much, much older than you thought. It is, in fact, an obsolete Fermi-generation GPU with only 96 CUDA cores and is based on a GF117 chip that dates all the way back to 2011, with the technology dating back a year earlier than that. And NVIDIA has already EOL'd all Fermi-generation GPUs for driver support, with the very last driver version supporting it - version 391.35, which does not support CUDA 9.2 or higher - released way back at the end of March of last year (2018),

RjL190365 - Amazing! And hard for someone like myself to believe. The computer I bought is not even a year old. I had assumed it would have come with a lot more modern hardware to it. But from what you say, it seems like I didn't get such a good deal - which means I don't know what next to do. I can't just keep buying new computers because software suddenly requires a newer graphic card etc. I just don't have the means to keep up with that way of living. Thanks for your input!
