Hi-

I'm using PP CS6. Importing .avi file from Coleman TrekHD camera. PP only reads audio portion of the file on import, not the video portion.

Anything setting I can change so that PP will read BOTH audio and video?

Note: the coleman comes w/ software to convert video clips to different files types from which I can then import into PP but that extra step is a PITA, and would like to avoid it if at all possible.

Thanks for your assistance. Cheers.

M.

AVI is a wrapper, what is inside YOUR wrapper - Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?

Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing - For Windows Internet Explorer press the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard, and then do CTRL-V to paste the screen print from the clipboard into a forum message

Free programs to get file information for PC/Mac http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

- when you analyze your file in MediaInfo and post a screen shot in the forum, do so in TREE view

Just in case this applies, H.264 will not work inside an AVI wrapper http://forums.adobe.com/thread/854115

That does not show the codec that is inside your AVI wrapper

Your file name INDICATES that you are using MJPEG, which requires that you have an MJPEG codec installed, or do a conversion

Hi John-

I believe this screen shot contains the codec. In short, is it possible to install a codec that will allow PP CS6 to import the video portion?  thank you.
