Hi everyone,
So I've been recording my voice over's with no issue in Premiere Pro.... until now. It suddenly stopped working... it gives me the countdown and seems to be recording but when I stop it, there's no audio file on the timeline. Any clues on why this might be? I'm already checked System Preferences, Audio Hardware in Premiere's Preferences- both with computer audio and with an external microphone and nothing works. After reading forums for hours I decided to post in here in case anyone can help me...
Very frustrating.
Thanks in advanced everyone!

Hi Silvia,
Sorry! Did the mic work in the past? What kind of mic? How is it connected? Let us know.
Thanks,
Kevin

The Yeti Blue Stereo mic works on 2022 Premiere Pro and all other applications on my mac book pro. It doesn't work in the 2023 Beta version of the Premier Pro. I have to open up 2022 PP and record, export, and import audio tracks as a work around. This is a serious inconvenience and glitch. All of the updates and bugs in Premiere Pro are making me want to get Final Cut Pro.

Sorry about that. Have you tried it in v. 24.0? Let us know if works there for you.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, I'm using v. 24.10. My mic works on the 2022 non-beta version and on my mac. The audio input for PP 24.10 shows my Yeti as the input but it won't record audio. I have to open the 2022 version of PP, record the audio track, export it as an mp4, import it into v 24.10 and then it plays. This is rediculous.

Same problem here. Voice-over record sudden stopped recording sound but leaves a clip, I've tried everything including the very latest update. No luck. Veryfrustrating. On the audio mix panel, the record button doesn't work either.

Let me know which version of Premiere Pro you are working with, the OS, and info about the computer you are using.
Thanks,
Kevin

Can you check System Settings > Sound and see if it is set up correctly for "input." Also look at Premiere > System Settings > Audio Hardware to see if that is also matching the input device in the system settings. I hope that helps.
Thanks,
Kevin

You might try resetting preferences, @diana cf84411544. Press Shift at launch. Reset preferences in the reset options dialog box. If that won't work, consider reinstalling the application.
Thanks,
Kevin

Sorry, I haven't tried resetting the application. I'm in the middle of something and don't want to risk messing it up.
Best, Diana

Yep, Same issues here. All system and Premiere Pro settings have been checked. Mic works fine with all other apps. Just can't record VO in PP. Blank track appears, no input signal at all. Blue Yeti mic, PP 24.3, Mac Studio, OSX Sonoma 14.4.1 and like I said mic works everywhere else.

Hi I'm having the same issue after updating to 24.05.0 (Build 57). Mic is set correctly in prefs and sys. Record counter runs down, mic levels appear and recording stops and no file appears and there is no track in the timeline. I've reset prefs etc to no avail. Has a solution been found?
Thanks!

Same issue here! I know the mic settings are correct. This is clearly a bug. How do we get Adobe to respond?

This is happening to me in Premiere 24.2.1. Mic settings are correct and I am seeing the meters picking up the mic in the VO Record Settings dialogue. When I hit record and then "record" the audio, I see "Recording" in the Program panel. then I press Stop and nothing is in the timeline, and no audio file has been created in the Scratch Disk.
I have to do record sessions in 2023 or Audition and then bring that over to the project in 2024. It's ridiculous.
