i had request for make ProRes HQ to H264 codec - MOV container File. (it is Movie)

i know it is impossible to make by Premiere, no longer.

but also i have Davinci Resolve and DR can make H264 codec - MOV container File.

thats not the point of this question.

i wonder because, converted outputs Movie Feature has very difference Bitrate, each.

like one H264 MOV file has 29Mbps but another one has 62 Mbps.
i do not set bitrate limit because i want to higher bitrate as can possible.

source ProRes MOV files has eqauly bitrate, relatively.

like, 160Mbps~170Mbps. but when i convert this ProRes MOV to H264.MOV output them has big gap for Mbps bitrate.

i do not think this output spec due to my render settings.

i set render option to higher and i had lot of test of many Movie Feature files... tired...

What is decision factor of Bitrate in H264.MOV ?

maybe... is this relationship on how many action sequence(they must need much of Bitrate) or how many colorful sequence in source file(ProRes) ?

thanks and have a nice summer day.

It depends on what the source footage is as well as the intended platform of your MP4 file.

Encodists used to be a specialized job that took a lot of learning - there is much more to video quality than bitrate - but in these days of 'preset outputs' the skill is disappearning rapidly.

Requirements for Blu-ray are very different to streaming platforms (where total file size is usually a consideration) and the AME uses MainConcept for it's engine which simply is nowhere near as good as x264 engine is.

There are heaps of variables. Sadly, how much you can tweak them also depends on your chosen encoder.

So - more details, please.

Platform, intent, type of footage - it all matters

Thanks for fast reply.

i work for Movie distribute industry in Korea.

i'm just young kido and i do not know very well as you said.

but yes, i do study about digital movie file and codec.

recenty, i do distribute some old library title to oversea country.

they request me to H264 codec MOV file. and also they request 50MBPS bitrate for MOV.

as i said, source file is 2h hours(approximately) Movie file. it is ProRes 422 HQ and Full Mix 5.1 audio embeded(LPCM 24 - 48Khz) / 2398FPS. of course color Movie.

i did this convert to H264 MOV by Davinci.

but... output H264 MOV has very difference MBPS.... 29~60MBPS.

how can i make higher bitrate H264 MOV more thans 50MBPS?
