What Version Can I Run With Intel HD Graphics 4600 Card?

Community Beginner ,
Mar 21, 2020 Mar 21, 2020

I understand that my graphics card is old (Intel HD 4600), and that I might not be able to properly use Premiere Pro 2020.  But, is there a previous version of Premiere that I can use with the Intel 4600 card?

I had responded to your previous post.

For that CPU and storage combination I'd choose either a GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER or a GeForce GTX 1660. A GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER is also recommended if you are going to update your CPU platform to a newer-generation performance-equivalent system within the next few months.

I don't think ny of the currently available versions of CC will be able to use that graphics.

My computer appears to only have the integrated Intel HD 4600 graphics card. I wonder if I could buy and install a seperate dedicated graphics card that would work with the newer versions of Premiere? Trying to avoid buying an entire new computer.  Any advice would be great.

What is the exact CPU do you have? You see, I cannot recommend one until you do. Otherwise, we might end up recommending one that's WAY overkill for a CPU that might have been adequately powerful back in 2013 but is a serious weakling by today's standards.

Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 16 GB RAM, (2) 1TB Solid State Drives: 1st) running my operating system (274GB used), and 2nd) storage (433GB used).  Let me know if there's any other information/specs needed.  Thanks!  I also have a 3rd 1TB hard drive that is not Solid State, and it is 779GB used.

In your case, go with a GTX 1660 SUPER. Anything above that will require a much more powerful CPU than that just to even come close to fully utilizing.

And since most Haswell mainstream CPU platforms do not really support fast PCI-E SSDs, you may step down to a GTX 1650 SUPER without incurring a significant performance penalty. Don't go below the GTX 1650 SUPER as lesser GPUs are either performance-mismatched to your CPU or lack sufficient VRAM or are outdated if not obsolete.

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, and how full)?
