White window after start up / crash

Hi,

My girlfriend installed Premiere Pro and After Effects on an older machine and both apps are failing to start properly. Now I am wondering what the common problem is as I haven't seen this one before:

After loading, a white square window appears on top of the normals app UI. It is completely empty clicking on the X closes the apps entirely. It has however the dimensions of the "there are already 2 devices logged-in. kick one of them in order to use the app"-window.  I am trying to figure out if it's a software issue or which parts of the hardware are causing this problem. I know its a very old set-up but was hoping to get the programs at least started and worry about the rendering times later ...

Its a Dell XPS 8300

running Windows 10
Intel i7 2600

8GB RAM

Geforce 750 Ti (latest driver, 445.87)

Really hope I can get this work around the old hardware or at least get some kind of crash report.

Thanks a lot in advance.
