Why does Premiere Pro do this with the opacity mask and Keyframes?

The opacity mask jumps only from keyframe to keyframe. But why is that so? What am I doing wrong? Even without curvature stabilization it is not possible.

Thank You

That is a unexpected.  Which version of Premiere Pro is this?

For what you're doing, send the clip to After Effects.  The AE Roto Brush will probably allow you to isolate the car much more quickly than a tracked Mask Path.

I'm using the latest version from 2023. I have used this effect many times, and it has always worked. I have already reinstalled Premiere and it is not possible.

If it was working properly on a previous version, I'd suggest you revert to the previous version.    One of the great things about CC is that you can have multiple versions of the programs on your system...  You just need to make sure you make sure you don't delete the previous version when doing the update...    And probably a good idea to file a bug report.  To confirm that it's not operator error (happens even to me), maybe create the desired effect in an earlier version of Premiere, save the project and then open the project in the new version and see if you're still seeing the problem...

I just tried it in Premiere Pro 23.1 under macOS 11.7.1 and Mask Path keyframes interpolate with Linear Keyframe Interpolation as expected.

I can try Windows 11 later today.

You want the Mask Path to track with the car, correct?  Have you tried "Track selected matk forward"?

LATEST

From the point where you masked the car to your liking, you have to either press track mask forward or track mask backward, depending on which way you want to go. You can use the arrow keys on the same line where your keyframes are located. PPro will then processs the mask tracking either forwards or backwards and individual keyframes will be generated.

But, like others have mentioned here as well, this kind of elaborate mask tracking is probably better suited for After Effects than PPro. The mask tracker was mainly implemented to enable editors to blur out faces or number plates, not for extensive/precise tracking. This is VFX work and After Effects is your tool.

Hope this helps.
