Why is Adobe asking me to change my screen resolution to 1024 x 768?

I'm a beginner learning Premiere Pro. The app is asking me to change my screen resolution to 1024 x 768. But I want to upload my finished video to Youtube and their preferred resolution is 1920x1080. Why is Premiere Pro asking me to do this? Can I ignore the pop up window? Thanks so much for your help!

Can you post a screen shot of your Display Settings as well?

1. In Windows Start Meny, type Display and press Enter.

2. What do you see under Resolution?

This is what i see.

The screen resolution refers to the Windows display (monitor) you are using, and has nothing whatsoever to do with what resolution of video you are editing or exporting. Apparently your computer display - laptop perhaps? - is set to something lower than 1024x768 which would be a minimum that Premiere wants to operate with. Judging by your screen shot, and how big Premiere windows are on screen, it does appear that your display is set to a very low resolution.

Thanks

Jeff

Adobe is recommending I change to 1024x768 which is not even one of the options on my display settings:

Try to close Premiere Pro and change the scale from 150% (Recommended) to 100%. Launch Premiere Pro again. I think the scaling throws Premiere Pro off.

If you get the same, provide us with the answers Ann wanted back in post #2.

Yes brendamurry, very odd. I agree that we need to see the computer and OS specs and the specific dot version of PR you are running.

The "size text" etc scaling (at the windows recommended 150%) is not the scaling that causes issues. It is the scaling found under "Advanced scaling." Brenda, would you please provide a screenshot of what you have under advanced scaling?

And if it is "not set," certainly do as Averdahl has suggested if you have not already.

If you read the message again it is not asking you to change to 1024/768 but rather to increase the screen resolution.

I would reinstall Premiere and Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

Try to change your resolution to anything else than what is set right now, and re-launch premiere.
