i saw a tutorial and they used a text layer. i did the exact same thing, just with an png. and somehow the animation isn't as fluid as i saw it in the video.

Write on is a non gpu effect.

Always been a bit difficult to use.

Best is to go into AE and draw text or whatever: way easier.
