XML Exporting Bugs with Audio Lines duplicating

Explorer ,
May 24, 2024 May 24, 2024

When exporting a sequence in xml Premiere Pro and importing it into Davinci and vice versa the Audio lines are extremely bugged.

For example
1, 2, 3 (Mono)
is duplicated into mono clips by Davinci and Premiere Pro too and thus should turn into
1L, 1R, 2L, 2R, 3L, 3R (Stereo)
but instead turns into
1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1

I have tried to fix it using Premiere Pro and Davinci resolve on different PCs.
In addition to that Ive tried all possible export methods and validated the xml file on the internet but nonetheless some versions could not be imported into Davinci Resolve, no matter if I exluded clips, removed all attributes, turned stereo into Mono and vice verca, used a clip without any edits. Sometimes when importing there was an error: "DOM parser error . Line ..." even if it was only a single clip.
Apart from that the FCP Translation Results said: "Translation issue:
Effect <MPEG Source Settings> on Clip <"Name"> not translated." Removing that clip did not help though.

How do I succesfully export a sequence from Premiere Pro into Davinci Resolve and vice versa?

Dear @Nobodie,

Thanks for writing in with your issue. I'm sorry you're having trouble with the XML translation. The team will likely need more info to reproduce your bug. Can you provide them with that? Here are the details and format. How do I write a bug report?

I hope the team or the community can assist you with this.

Take Care,
Kevin

Could you send us a project (we don't need media) that reliably reproduces the problem(s) you've reported?

Unfortunately neither Premiere Project files nor .zip files can be attached. Here is a link to both the Project File with the problem aswell es XML: https://workupload.com/file/zm3yfdHLSBk  Even when reimporting the exported XML from Premiere Pro back into Premiere Pro bugs happen again. Though this time Audio lines 1, 2, 3 were turned into 1, 1, 3.

We fixed DVAPR-4252247 in 25.3; in what verson are you seeing the issue, Michelle?

Hi there! I'm in 25.3.0. My XML wasn't from Davinci (instead it was imported from another platform called Plotline) but i'm having the same issue where my audio tracks are bugged. Some won't copy to other sequences, they duplicate when I try to simply move them from one track to another, the label color changes randomly when I move my mouse, and often the audio clip doesn't even select when I click it.

Bizarre.

Can we have an .xml and the (hopefully, light-weight) audio media it references, that displays this behavior? I DM'd you my Adobe address; private upload space available upon request. 🙂
