Option to go back to old timeline label colors?

So apparently the new update has changed the label colors in the timeline, and I do not like them at all. It's supposed to be "easier to see" but it has the complete opposite effect for me. The colors are very dark and have a cheaper feel to them. I know that you can set your label colors to "classic" mode in the settings, which is supposed to be the old look, but it's not the same look at all.

I'm currently going to set premiere back to an older version, but I'd love to see a way to go back to the old colors.

Couldn't agree more. Shocking decision. I know there can't be many colour blind (I'm only slightly!) editors out there but boy do this new scheme sucks. Products are ment to be more accessable yet this feels like it's shutting me out of using a basic feature because I have only the slightest deficiency. I've accepted struggling with the color balance and grade, not labelling my damn clips.

Choose the Classic option: only some dark colors will be inverted.

This is horrible. As video editors we work every single moment with this tool and we did not ask for this s***ty change. It's making our god-damn canvas impossible to work with.

Indeed whomever came with this genius idea should be fired!

I tried to no avail to return to the classic look. I can reach similar results with labels BUT still the audio colors are ruined. And deep dark audio waves replaced the old ones, even with classic labels, instead of the usual white ones.

I uninstalled and reinstalled last version of Premiere Pro before this horrible update.

IF IT'S NOT BROKEN DON'T FIX IT! We didn't ask for this! And we do not want this!

I'm not sure if Adobe reads these threads but I'm chiming in to say I'm very disappointed in this change that wasn't asked for.
I've switched to "classic" but as many have pointed out, it's still not the same.  How difficult is it to give us the OPTION to revert to our original color scheme?  Lame.

Seconding this. Please please please revert to the old colours. Desperate for someone at adobe to read this. Small changes make a hell of a difference, don't 'fix' something if there isn't a problem with it, and at LEAST give us the option to select the old colours.

How can Adobe be so short-sighted? Please give us the option to change it back to exactly how it was.

And what if you have an ongoing operation with deadlines every week using the same project file? People are used to seeing something and being able to make sense of it quickly to work efficiently. This update was terrible for our workflow.

I can't stand these new colors.....do they do this on purpose to make our blood boil?? Like why change something so basic, at least give us the damn option to use these 80's vomit colors....I litterally can't work with these colors.

Finally a solution, and it's quite simple. Simply go under - Settings - Labels - and once the panel opens up, on the bottom right, there are presets, simply click on classic and all will be returned to normal. But in a panic, it's tough to find.

I get the point of what they are doing, which is to give users control over the timline colors. I just wish they'd given the option to change to a schema of our choice, rather than simply making the change.

You can now modify all colors in the Preferences/Labels dialog, click a color and use the picker to mod hue, sat, brightness to taste, then save.

If your audio and video are the same color, you can split that again (as of olden days) by the three-bar menu for the Sequence tab in the timeline panel.

As I previously stated, going to Settings - Labels - Classic does not really fix everything. The audio waves stay Dark blue+Soft Blue Background, whereas before they were White+Soft Blue Background. The white audio waves were easy to see and work with. The now dark ones are horrible for us editors! And even more so for editors who are colorblind! This solution you think you found is flawed.

PS: A simple fix from Adobe is to make "Settings - Labels - Classic" look EXACTLY like the old interface. Because right now it really is not looking the same and is not a correct/full fix.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that the audio portion was super different. I found it worked ok for me. If you want, you can customize the audio color for any color that might work. Simply go to labels, and un the label colors assigned to Caribbean, you can change it to any color or shade that might work for you.

Again, there's a Sequence menu option to have audio and video same color. Deselect that.

I suppose no one has found a solution to this?  No one from Adobe Premiere chiming in with a real solution to fix this awful change?

Actually, there have been several responses by staffers on several threads.

Including asking questions about what would make the new setup work better. Which will get implemented over time. I would expect there will be changes in the public beta version over the summer. At some point, some other changes and options will appear in the 'shipping' version.

I'd prefer such changes came with an opt-in, but oh well. After customizing the colors, the colors are mostly OK for me at the moment. I'm still not a fan of the bright "inverted" audio waveforms though.
