I've just purchased a new 16" MBP and when I play back AVCHD footage I get crazy colour issues.
OpenCL works ok thankfully but as it is shown to be becoming deprecated this is somewhat concerning.

There are multiple reports of issues with Premiere Pro and After Effects on the new 16 inch MBP.
Likely to do with the new graphic cards in this model.
No doubt this issue is a priority for a coming update. Stay with OpenCL for the time being - it's about 15-20% slower than Metal.

Thanks for your response Steve, sounds like its a case of new hardware being ahead of the game. I will use OpenCL in the meantime as its working well.

Apple's decision to deprecate OpenCL in favor of Metal is a problem for many. I know colorists n Resolve having the same troubles.
Perhaps Metal ain't quite fully developed and will be better soon. Run with OpenCL while you can if it works better. And let Apple know it's causing problems.

Thanks Neil, yes OPENCL seems to be the best advice for now which is fine. I'm sure it will be fixed as its brand new hardware.
