Can anyone give me experience of using the latest Windows 1903 version using Creative Cloud Apps, in particular Premiere Pro latest version 2019 and AME 2019 version.
I am about to build my new i9 based machine and wonder which one to go for - 1803 / 1809 or latest 1903. I am using NVidia Creative Driver version on my GTX 1070.
I know this is a bit of a big question (so many factors involved) - but a general consensus would be useful
Thanks

I have used 1903 without problems since it was released with CC apps including Premiere Pro CC2019 and AME CC2019.
If you opt for 1803 or 1809 the computer will be updated to 1903 pretty soon anyway. The best is to start with a fresh install of 1903.

like Averdahl mentioned, win 10 is now a software as a service ( SAS), and you have no control over getting updates from Microsoft.
Eventually, at some point, when you go to shut down your computer or when you boot it ( start it ), you will see a notice from Microsoft that says, " Your computer is now being updated. Do not turn off your computer. "
So you might as well start with the newest version. Lot's of companies like to shove stuff down your throat, whether you want it or not.. it's the new normal.

Odd as it sounds, this leads to a couple of options, sorta.
For one thing, if you install Windows 10 and get it updated to the point you like it ( everything works as desired ), the ONLY way to keep it from updating anymore is to disconnect the cable to your router... which means no internet.
So, let's say you want your editing computer to be disconnected, because that way you don't get interrupted while working on editing .. no programs are taking over your computer and updating things right in the middle of doing a job... (updating often requires a 'shut down and restart' to complete the process )… So you're kinda like stuck staring at your computer as it updates. And if there's a 'client' in the house, you might as well tell them to go away, maybe call later and see if you can go back to work ?
This solution of no internet to stop MS ( and NVidia, and Adobe update notices), unfortunately, is not an option with CC, because your license to use the product on a subscription is checked by Adobe via the internet. If that check happens to happen when you are not connected to internet you'll have some problems using the programs. So if you use CC you pretty much have to be connected to the internet most of the time, in my opinion.
My guess it's a hit and miss kind of thing where you have no real control over it.
My own choice has been to NOT be connected to internet with editor, and NOT use CC.

In 1903 the end user has the option to pause updates, even for Win 10 Home users.

I always hold off major updates (pro version) so I dont end up being a beta tester.
Dont think Home users have much choice.

Thanks for your response and all others who have given me their experience on this so far.
You are right that Windows 10 will try to update you (you get forced) but in the Pro 64 bit version you can go into Advanced update Options and turn off Major Feature update.
I have done this on the 1709 version which I have been running for sometime now with only the regular Security and Windows updates. So I even held off on 1803 version !
I was about to load 1809 version based on some comments on the Forums (eg Video driver stability, but I think they were using Microsoft ones)
- the video Drivers I use now are from Nvidia directly using the Creative versions and not the Gamer versions which update every week !. These seem to be the sticking point with some users.
I tend to agree with Ann Bens comment as 1903 is quite new isn't it ? - Enterprises always hold back one release - or two even !
As it is a brand new build (and I have this back up machine running 1709 and Adobe CC) - maybe on this occasion I will be brave and go with 1903 version !.
If it turns out to be a disaster I only have myself to blame.

I was not aware of that. It seems that one must be a member of the Microsoft Insider program for this to work, but becoming a member is just a couple of clicks away. Cool tip there!

Yes that´s correct. I am curious to test and in some way we are all betatesters today. Applications and updates of different softwares are released that can make an application or even a system unusable. "Ohh, we missed that when we betatested..."
Install the version that feel best for you!

I find 1809 very stable.

Thank you Ann. Just built the machine and decided to go with the 1809 version (with updates). as you recommend. After all ......there are enough variables when using Adobe Premiere etc !.
I have fixed the windows update to only load security and quality updates for 1809 and put a barrier up to 1903 (for now).
