Alternative to content categories (DUCC) in Multiscreen HTML5?

I've run into a situation where content categories (DUCC) could be very useful to filter by different roles or process paths. However, this functionality didn't make it into the HTML5 outputs.

I thought maybe something in jquery could be 'implementable' but I have no idea where to even start searching, so I'm appealing to the hivemind.

We are only targeting Internet Explorer (8/9 depending on who you talk to - long story, don't ask) and desktop output, so no need to consider accessibility by mobile devices.

DUCC isn't an option at the moment with HTML5 so...

I have to ask though why you are interested in using DUCC given that you are not supporting mobile devices.

Then you mention IE8. Next time I see you I will be looking for brick dust in your hair!

Yep, I'll be putting in a feature request, but hoping for a suggestions in the meantime, given Adobe definitely won't be implementing it in time for my deadline, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to organise an upgrade anyway.

Content categories aren't mobile-specific, unless I'm missing something?

You won't be able to see the dust for all the extra grey hair.

Content Categories are for webhelp and not HTML5. My point was as you are not supporting mobile devices, why the interest in HTML5?
