hello, i am new user for robohelp, i made a user manual for erp system as pdf file, and i need to use it to build an on line help with the system and i do not know how to import pdf file to robohelp

    Correct answer Peter Grainge

DeepSeek and other AI apps cannot be relied on. They will find that RoboHelp does import PDFs but not tell you that was in out of date versions. Don't believe everything you read in AI.

As I indicated there is no built in PDF Import feature so a workaround is needed.

    CONVERT TO WORD AND IMPORT

There are many tools that will convert a PDF to a Word document. The downside of that method is that very few convert the styles to proper Word styles. Instead they mostly convert to inline styling that will be a mess on importing. Cleaning that up will require additional work. The better PDF apps such as Adobe Acrobat do a better but not perfect job but they are paid for versions.

There are ways of cleaning up the code afterwards but it means going through the topics one by one. How to import a Word document is described on my site.

CREATE THE CONTENT AS A TEXT FILE

This is what I would look and maybe even if you have lots of images and tables that cannot convert to a text file.

I would then paste in the content bit by bit creating topics as I go. That way you would apply the styles in RoboHelp so that they are consistent and have good code behind them.

How big is the PDF and does it have lots of images and tables?

The problem with your post is you are a new user so you may find it difficult to appreciate the ins and outs of my answer. Do feel free to ask any follow up questions.

I apologise for bothering you sir, but I used DeepSeek AI to ask if there is a way to use the operating manual I wrote for ERP in PDF format, to integrate it into the application - On Line Help - when the user presses F1, and the answer was that yes, by importing the file into RoboHelp, it will analyse the file and create a file that can be integrated with the application
Attached is a file of the question and answer

Perhaps this answers the question of why I'm here now

There isn't an Import PDF feature but I can suggest how to achieve what you want to do. Please confirm your version first.
