How to merge CHM outputs?

How do you merge CHM outputs in RH (2020.7.46)?

I tried to follow the "Child HTML Help File" instructions here; however, I can't find the icon or other option that's described in step 4. The instructions say to "Right-click in the Table of Contents editor and choose New > HTML Help File." But when right-clicking in the TOC editor, there is no "New" option. The only options are: Insert>Topic/Section/AnotherTOC/Child Project. None of these options seem to allow for adding a CHM to the TOC.

I tried adding my child .chm files into my assets folder and then adding them directly to the TOC like I would a PDF or topic, but that did not work (my output just considers the files as one topic, and the topic content is only a text version of the glossary terms.

    This topic on my site does explain how to link the projects.

    Merged Help RoboHelp New UI (grainge.org)

    The icon I show is correct but what I have only just learned is that for the required icon to appear you have to go to Project Settings and select Advanced HTML Help Options. I will update the page on my site shortly but otherwise it is correct.

    The format in Classic was

    <p><a href="Child_3.chm::/child_3_topic.htm">Link to a Child 3 topic</a></p>

    A quick test suggests that will not work in the New UI.

    If someone does find a solution, please post it here.

    @Thea Carter Note that in 2020 it is not possible to create links between topics in different projects.

    I haven't tested to see if creating such a link copying the format as in Classic versions will work in the New UI. It might be worth a try if you require cross project links.

    ah-ha! That was what I was missing. I hadn't enabled Advanced HTML Help Options. Thank you so much!

    I have taken this up with Adobe. The options mentioned in RoboHelp's own help were correct in the 2019 version but, as you have pointed out, they are missing in 2020.

    I haven't been able to find a workaround so far.

    I will update this thread as soon as I hear back from Adobe or if I find a solution.

    I'd take a look at Peter's site on merged help - grainge.org.

    Thanks, Jeff. I did, but the instructions for merging chms on his site are specific to RH Classic. Nothing there wrt RH2020. It didn't seem like instructions for RH Classic were relevant to 2020. Or am I wrong on that?

    There is a topic on 2020. Look in the menu. I will check out your issue in the morning.
