Is there a way to filter content based on rules? For instance, only display administrator topics if I log in as a certain user type or only display certain topics you have access to.

The short answer is that Rh does not provide such a solution. You could create different outputs according to user rights and then your developers could install each output and direct users to the appropriate output. That is something only they can set up.

Is your output related to CHM files as that is the forum you have posted in? You haven't indicated which version of Rh you are using (Please see Before You Post in the sticky topics) as RoboHelp 2015 provides an alternative solution. Using Responsive HTML5 it is possible to set up filters. Users would open the help but they could then apply filters to see only the relevant content. That of course my not work if you don't want them to see the other help. Usually though it would not matter if they can see it as the system should stop them doing anything their rights do not permit.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the missing information. Yes, most of our help files are CHM. We are using RoboHelp 11. Our system is based on privileges; however, I thought we could minimize the help offered based on the user that logged in. For instance, a 'regular' user would not see all the options that an administrator may see.

Following is possible using dynamic content in RoboHelp 2015 which should serve your need.

Depending on the login you take the users to a different URL and give the filtering options in the URL itself. Optionally you can hide the filtering option too from the user based on the URL parameter so user sees exactly the same content which you want to show for that user personal.
