I'm re-evaluating RH 2020 with Update 7 to see if it's viable for us to upgrade from RH 2017.
Sometimes my generation just hangs or seems to hang, especially for a large Word or PDF generations. I'd like to determine why.
Answers to the following questions might help me:

2. Open the log file and hover over the tab. It should show the location. And you should be able to right-click and select Show in Explorer.
3. You could try deleting it? Or deleting the contents? No idea if it would work or crash RH though 😛

To find the temp files, perhaps you could kick of the generation process, then use task manager to force kill the Robohelp process so it doesn't clean up properly? Then use explorer to search for files with the relevant timestamp?

Thanks Amebr! That tip about right-clicking on the log file and opening its folder location was instrumental in helping me figure out where RH stores temp files and log files.
Here are some things I figured out that might benefit others with the same question/isuse:
(I've also found that there are some .log files that appear at the RH software level to track RoboHelp events such as opening, loading, saving, closing projects and so forth.)
