Question

Wrong size of the .chm-file

Hi,

we have a problem with the size of the generated chm file, using RH8.

We can set any window size in the 'window properties' - the result is a chm file, which is too small (height and width).

In RH5 which we used before, anything worked as expected.

Are there any hidden options or files, to reset this settings?

Thanks in advance

Set Microsoft HTML help as your default, then create a new window. With that set as the default, you will find the options you require.

The options are there - that is not the problem. But they don't have any effect on the size of the generated chm file.

By default the window size and postion is however the user last closed the window. There is an option to remember the size and postion. Personally I hate it when someone uses that, it's my PC, I want the help where **I** want it.

Last position and dimension - sure.

But we have the situation, that there are several users which open several chm files for the first time. Time and time again.

And all of these files have an edge length of 100 pixels where they should have at least 1000 or whatever.

Of course - the user can resize the window by his own idea. It is his PC and I'm completely with you here..

But at the moment, we enjoin everyone unintended to see an absurd small window, opening a chm file for the first time.

This is exactly the opposite of what we want to do. And we have no idea how to enlarge the windows size to a dimension that would fit to the users demands. (Which should assure at least the possibility to start reading without resizing the size of the window first at all.)
