RH 2019 ERROR! - Output Generation: "Failed to generate Frameless."

Working on a project created in RH2019 (new) that I've been compiling/generating as Frameless (Orange) output without issues. Went to generate/compile and it failed. RH2019 displayed an Output Generation dialog with the error message "Failed to generate <frameless output name>." (where <frameless output name> is the name of my frameless output).

 

  1. Restarted RoboHelp; still get error.
  2. Restarted PC; still get error.
  3. Created a brand new, default frameless output and brand new, default skin (tried all - Orange, Dark, and Oceanic); still get error.
  4. Tried generating default Responsive HTML5; still get error
  5. Successfully generated default EPUB, Microsoft HMTL Help, PDF, Word Document, and XML outputs.
  6. Replaced my CSS with a brand new default one; still get error.

 

At a loss. Project succesHaven't been working on anything today in this project other than inserting new images in a single topic (tried rem. Not aware of any log files or other such similar things to check....

 

One final note - the issue is specific to this project. I was able to compile/generate frameless outputs in another project without any issues.

SOLVED! It was a corrupt TOC!

  1. Followed Amebr's suggestion, but there was no View Log option when right-clicking on output presets. Odd.
  2. Used Peter's troubleshooting steps...
  3. Blew out the .rh folder; still got the error.
  4. Reviewed the .cnd file in Notepad++; didn't notice anything odd or obviously wrong.
  5. Created a new project. Added Orange skin and assigned to Frameless output. Left all other settings to default. Copied in the first folder of topics from the corrupt project. Successfully generated help. Couldn't view any topics, so copied over Default.toc file from the corrupt project into the new test project. Compiled. ERROR! Created new Standard.toc in the corrupt project, assigned to frameless output and generated --> SUCCESS!

 

Looked at corrupt Default.toc file in Notepad++, but didn't see anything obvious.

If you right-click on the output preset, you should get a View Log option, which might help work out where things are failing.
