If a design gets rejected for a similar issue, and I make some changes and re-upload it—and it gets approved—will that cause any problem for my account?

No, not if you've revised the file before resubmitting it; however if it gets rejected again, you should just move on. Repeatedly resubmitting rejects can get you banned for spamming.
