Weird baking artifact at specific place of my mesh

Hello, to be clear, I'm not new to substance painter or to 3d softwares in a general sense.

When baking my low-res mesh with my high-res mesh I got multiples baking issues, I worked on it and found the solution for each of this issues, except one.

I seem to have a very weird baking issue at a very specific spot of my mesh :

So I went other the basics.

For both of the high and low res mesh
- Normals are fine
- Faces are smoothed
- No intersecting geometry
- No overlaying uvs
- No doubles faces, doubles vertex or anything

For the baking
- Tried adjusting the distance for both forward and backward, didn't seem to solve the issue
- Tried adjusting Normal, AO, curvature settings
- I've baked by mesh name, and all the names are corrects

here's the baking settings :

And here's what it looks like with the high-poly and the low-poly :

All the other meshes in this scene seems to be doing just fine with the current settings, so if you have any idea of what could be the issue you're welcome 🙂

Hi again @Kazrarr,

Hopefully, it was simply a Max Frontal Distance issue, but I admit it was easier to see with the new baking visualization option.

Hello @Kazrarr,

Thanks for all the details.

It seems you already have done a great part of the troubleshooting. Would you mind to share the assets, so I can try to give you a proper help? You can obviously send those privately (cdellenbach@adobe.com) if you don't wish to share them here.

Let me know.

Thanks a lot, that resolved the issue, this made me realize that for some reason, the low poly mesh was far away from the high poly mesh, I don't understand what happened for it to get this far but thank you for taking the time to help.

Have a great week-end

(should definitively think of making use of the new feature)

I also have to say I'm sorry for misleading you, it seems like I haven't tweaked the distance hard enough

Hi again @Kazrarr,

Don't worry, you don't have to be sorry. This is a honest mistake and I'm happy the problem is solved.

Have fun with your texturing.
