Hello, When visiting http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer using the Chrome browser, the sentence 'Do you have a different operating system or browser?' is a link to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ where you can download the Flash Player. On this page, select the OS you have and then either the ActiveX (IE) or Plugin (other browsers) versions of Flash Player. Althernatively, you can download the install files directly using the download links posted here http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#main-pars_header. -- Maria

Hi Warren, If you're still encountering the 'certificate authentication failed' error when downloading/installing from get.adobe.com/flashplayer, please try one of the following two options: Option 1: Open command prompt (C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe) At the prompt, type: Certutil –urlcache * delete Option 2: Delete the contents of the “temp” directory (on Win7 - C:\Users\<YourUseID>\AppData\Local\Temp) Thank you. -- Maria

Hi rae8rae4, What is the operating system and browser you are using when downloading/installing Flash Player (presumably from get.adobe.com/flashplayer)? For reference, the current system requirements are posted here http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html. If the os/browser combination is not listed, then 10.3 is offered for download. -- Maria

Hi MagChi0354, Some process is using the Flash Player and is preventing the uninstall/install of the version you are attempting to install. Please ensure all products that may use the Flash Player (browsers, Instant Messaging clients, and others) are closed and nothing is using Flash Player. Also check Task Manager and ensure Flash Player related processes are not running (they'll have 'FlashPlayer' or 'FlashUtil' in the name). -- Maria

Hello, I will attempt to address a few issues in this thread (not necessarily in the order they appear in the thread posts): Error 1013 is a downgrade attempt error. To install a previous version of the Flash Player ActiveX, you MUST first uninstall using the Flash Player uninstaller posted here http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html. There are safe guards implemented to prevent accidental downgrades of the ActiveX control. Uninstalling using the Control Panel entry does not remove the safe guards. The stand alone uninstaller does. In reviewing the various posts, it is not clear if the uninstaller was used or not. There aren't separate uninstall instructions for the Windows ActiveX or Plugin. The same instructions, and uninstaller, works for both the ActiveX control and the Plugin. Since you are using the MSI to install (as opposed to the EXE) and have made numerous unsuccessful attempts, you may need to clean out the TEMP directory. Some older versions of the MSI leave files behind that may interfere with installation. I recommend using the EXE, as opposed to the MSI installers, which is primarily used by IT departments to install Flash Player across their corporate network. The current version, 11.4, and all other versions, do have separate Windows ActiveX (IE) and Plugin (non-IE browsers) versions. These are both posted to adobe.com, in a few locations. There always are two separate versions for the separate browser types as the ActiveX is not compatible with non-IE browsers, and the Plugin is not compatible with IE browsers. Previous versions of the ActiveX (for IE) and Plugin (non-IE browsers) are posted (in zip packages) at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html. I do not recommend installing 11.2 for Windows (or Mac) as this version is no longer supported. Along with the current version (11.4) Adobe currently releases security updates for 10.3 when an update for 11.4 is released. Since 11.2 (for Windows and Mac) is no longer supported, installing it can lead to security vulnerabilities on your system. -- Maria fixed typo. 11.3 should have been 10.3

Hello all, This issue has been fixed in version 11.1.102.55. The 'Updates' section of the Control Panel, Advanced tab, will be disabled (greyed-out) when 'AutoUpdateDisable=1' (without quotes) is present in the mms.cfg file. If you have a 32-bit OS, save the mms.cfg file in \Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash If you have a 64-bit OS, save the mms.cfg file in \Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash -- Maria

Hi Joe, The information you provided is helpful. This is the auto-update mechanism, which appears to be timing out during the download. You indicate that you are using AOL, however, Adobe no longer supports Flash Player on AOL browser (refer to Flash Player 11 tech specs). You can either use a supported browser, and install the latest Flash Player 11, or use Flash Player 10.3.183.10, which contains the latest security updates included in the Flash Player 11 release. If you do not have Flash Player 10.3.183.10, you can download it directly from here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580. Before installing, it is recommend to first uninstall the currently installed version, and then install the latet 10.3 version. The uninstaller is posted here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html. Adobe will continue to release security updates for Flash Player 10.3 for a specific time frame. When new versions are available, visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer to install the latest release. Due to the implementation of the auto-update mechanism, if a version lower than the most current version (in this case FP 11.0.1.152) is installed, the update notification will display, until the latest version is installed. To disable the update notification, follow the instructions posted here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/713/a7138026.html. -- Maria

Hi tdnotary, Nothing is being attached. Once posted, the image will dispaly inline, with your comment, not as a separate attachment. When composing your comment, to attach a file, click the Insert Image camera icon. This will launch the Insert Image dialog window. Click the Browse button to navigate to the location on your machine that contains the file to attach, then follow the prompts to attach the file. Are you attempting to install from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer? If so, please save the file to your desktop and provide the file name of the file. -- Maria

Hi towgod, The 'Actionlist not found' error may occur due to network issues or webapp failures. I know you are now able to intall Flash Player, however, to help narrow down the issue, when did you first begin getting this error (date, if possible woudl be great)? What type of connection to the internet do you have (DSL, cable, other), and the normal download speeds you experience? Is your machine configured with proxy settings? Thank you in advance. -- Maria

It will help tremendously in responding appropriately, and reduce confusion in a thread.a Can you please provide the FlashInstall.log file? On a 32-bit OS, it is located in \Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. On a 64-bit OS, there will be two files, one in \Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash, and another in \Windows\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash. Hi MurrayFurtado, The builds you are attempting to download from that page are the 32-bit content debuggers and standalone players. To download the 64-bit players go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer (or get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions). Since you didn't specify which version of RHEL you have, FP 11 is supported on RHEL 5.6 or later (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html). -- Maria
