Yep, I agree that default option should be to export Full Res. I have added your name to the request, Jim.

Yes, export will currently always use Full Res if Full Res and Proxy clips are Online. The other possible workaround is to select all clips in the Project panel or Sequence, right-click and select Make Offline. This will also make all Full Res clips Offline, which will force export of Proxy. We tried to the supported workflow functionality and known limitations in our documentation, understanding that we could not possibly cover all workflows in this release. There is an open feature request to select what you would like to export, without using Offline workarounds. I will add your name to it. Did you create your Proxies with Premiere or with another application? "Relink others automatically" has some conditions in order to work (which Create Proxies accounts for). The Proxies must have names matching the Full Res/original with "_Proxy" appended to the name. e.g.: Full Res = scene01.mxf, Proxy = scene01_Proxy.mov. The Proxies should also be in a separate folder, preferably next to the Full Res/original clips. You then want to choose the first clip it asks to attach to and the others should automatically relink correctly. That said, there still may be some cases where you will have to attach one by one. If these conditions are not met, then there may be issues with the automatic relink. Hopefully this can be improved upon in the future. Some additional information on the Proxy workflows: Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Ingest and Proxy Workflow in Premiere Pro CC 2015.3 Adobe Premiere Pro CC June 2016 Update (v2015.3) - YouTube Hope this helps.

Did you quit Premiere, delete Proxies, launch Premiere and select Offline All in Link Media dialog, then save the Project? If you don't save, then it will keep asking for the Offline clips. This works for me. Also, double-clicking a clip with Offline Proxy in Timeline Sequence resulting in Edit Offline dialog (rather than open in Source monitor), is an open issue. The current workaround is to hold down CMD/Ctrl key and double-click clip to open in Source monitor.

QuickTime ProRes and GoPro CineForm presets are both good candidates for 8channel audio support.

Which preset(s) did you try and what exactly is failing? I tried a few XAVC clips with 8 channel audio (only first two channels actually had audio) and Create Proxies worked for me using the default QuickTime ProRes and GoPro CineForm presets, as well as a custom DNxHD preset. Did you happen to use the H.264 preset and get an error in the Events panel? (The selected preset does not support the audio channel type of the clip). If so, this is expected, as H.264 export/transcode does not support 8 channel audio.

One of the requirements of the new Proxy functionality in 2015.3 is that the audio channels match between the Full Res and Proxy clips. The H.264 export/transcode in Premiere/AME does not support 4 mono. I did note an issue with Create Proxies will create different number of audio channels (e.g.: 4 mono Full Res will result in 5.1 audio Proxy) and incorrectly auto-attaches the Proxy. Manual Attach Proxies and Reconnect Full Resolution Media will catch this audio channel mismatch that you noted. This issue is currently under investigation. A possible workaround would be to use QuickTime GoPro CineForm (as you have already noted), as it will support 4 mono audio channels. Other possible options would be QuickTime ProRes or DNxHD Op1a.

To be honest, the creative cloud is another part of the company that I have no real insight on. I think the intent is that it will automatically appear, but due to scheduling, etc., can't really say when each person's account would be updated. "Check for App Updates" is giving it a gentle nudge?

I wonder if somehow you are not getting the Dolby install dialog? Given your time sensitive situation, I would recommend you go back to the previous version of Premiere to finish your project. More info: Install a previous version of any Creative Cloud application Later, you can decide what timing is right for you to update and see if the same issue occurs.

.mts support should not be changed in the latest update CC2015.1. Do these files have Dolby AC3 audio? With the CC 2015.1 update, you now need to install the Dolby codec, which should be noted by a dialog when you attempt to import a clip. You will receive Premiere Pro dialog, "Dolby codec must be installed to use this feature. Click OK to install now." The other thing to try is to quit Premiere, delete your Media Cache files, launch Premiere and import the files again. You can also install a previous version of CC 2015. For any R3D clip (or other format that used to have Source Settings) imported into CC 2015, the settings functionality has moved to Master Clip Effects. If you import a CC 2014 project with R3D clip, then Source Settings will be enabled in the Project panel. Snippet from help doc: Source Settings available in the Effect Controls panel For RED, ARRI, CinemaDNG, DPX, and Sony F65 media files, you can adjust Source Settings by using the Master tab in the Effect Controls panel. One way to have drop shadow with mask: you could apply a Difference Matte, create a Mask and check Inverted. Then add Drop Shadow effect. Another way (from Ann Bens): I would copy/paste the mask to a color matte and put that under the clip. Move it left/right up/down and up the feather a bit.

I don't believe that CS6 had support for multiple audio tracks for MPEG files. I double-checked this file in CS6 and confirmed what you are seeing, only the first track is imported. I tried the same file in the latest version of Premiere (CC 2014 8.2) and the file imports with both audio tracks. You can try this for yourself with the trail version. FYI, Premiere Pro does not natively support WMV import on the Mac (we do on Windows, though). As you've already found, it will require a 3rd party plug-in, such as Flip4Mac.

If you are using Premiere Pro CC (7.0), then the Remove Unused option is under the Edit menu. In the Project panel, if you are in Icon View, then files will display the orage video and/or audio icon in the file thumbnail. If you have the Preview Area enabled (in right corner wing menu) and select a file, then it will also list how many times the file is used.

CC is a month to month or annual membership. For work in CS6, your .mp4 files stil have all the frames, it's just the playback that is not full frame rate. One possible workaround to the playback is to place your files in a TImeline Sequence, add an Adjustment layer in trck above and then add a Brightness & Contrast effect to the Adjustment layer, with both values set to zero (basically, file is unaffected but requires rendring). Render Effects in Work Area and now you should have full frame rate playback. If you want to convert the files, you could try exporting them to H.264 within Premiere or AME. There will be some generational loss, so you could try a sample export to see if the quality is acceptable to you. You could try Format: H.264, 1920x1080, Frame Rate: 50, Profile: High, Level:4.2, Bitrate Encoding: VBR 1 pass, Target Bitrate [Mbps]: 35, enable 'Use Maximum Render Quaility'. These settings closely match the attributes of your supplied file. And I think you already realize this, but if you continue to stay with CS6, then I would recommend that you record AVCHD. I hope this helps.

(downloaded your sample file. Thank you for proving that) It looks like CS6 does not have proper support for this file type. Normally, it would be imported by the MPEG importer, which provides excellent playback support. In the case of your file, the MPEG importer fails the file and it gets passed to the QuickTime importer, which although it supports the file, playback is not so good. If you do not have QuickTime installed, then Premiere fails to open the file at all, since the MPEG importer does not appear to support it. With CC, we have included a number of improvements and added support to the MPEG importer, and this file imports and plays at full frame rate (since it is being imported by the MPEG importer). Please feel free to submit a bug for CS6: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

Uninstall and reinstall of Premiere Pro CS6 should not affect CS5.5. Deleting the Media Cache folders will remove any conform, index, PEK files and other cached items for both versions, though. If you want, you can just delete the specific cached files for the AVCHD files that do not provide audio. I was trying to eliminate the possibility that an older cache file might also be causing CS6 to not read audio. You can also remove the files from the Media Cache folders to a different location (backup), so that you can always put them back if needed. And the path to the Media Cache is the default location. If you have moved it to a different location, then go to that location for the Media Cache.

Thank you for supplying a file. I am getting audio with your file on my systems. It is 48kHz Stereo. Verified on Mac 10.6.8 and Windows 7sp1 with Premiere Pro CS6.0.1. This leads me to believe that something may have gone awry when you installed Premiere. Sorry, but all I can think of is that possibly a reinstall would resolve this issue on your system. You also might want to try manually deleting the Premiere media cache. On Windows, go to AppData -> Roaming -> Adobe -> Common -> delete the Media Cache and Media Cache Files folders. On Mac, go to Users -> <user name> -> Library -> Application Support -> Adobe -> Common -> delete the Media Cache and Media Cache Files folders.

DeenoDeeno, When you imported Jakub's .mts file in Premiere Pro CS6 on your system, did it have audio? If it did not, then it would possibly point to something going wrong with your installation of CS6. If you do get audio with Jakub's file (in Premiere Pro CS6), but not the files from your camera, then that sounds like something specific to your files. In that case, would it be possible to get a small sample file from your camera for us to look at? Thank you.

DeenoDeeno, Have you tried the 3 items that I listed earlier today? Premiere Pro CS6 does have support for Dolby audio in AVCHD files and many customers are seeing audio in their files. For some reason, some customers (such as yourself) and not getting audio and we believe this may be due to an something that went wrong during installation. I have spoken to a few people that have had the same issue as you and uninstall and then re-install Premiere fixed the issue for them. Here are the 3 things to try: 1) Quit Premiere. Launch Premiere again. Go to the Help menu and verify that you are activated (towards bottom, should see "Deactivate..." that signifies that you are activated). 2) Go to Preferences > Media > Media Cache Database. Click the "Clean" button. Import your file(s) again and see if you get audio now. 3) If 1 and 2 do not work, then could you please try to uninstall and then install Premiere Pro again. #3 has been confirmed by some people to resolve this issue. Thank you.

I have confirmation from two people that step #3 worked for them. Thank you.

My apologies. I beleive I mixed up my versions for support. 5.5.x should support PCM audio. Thank you, Jeff. I have confirmed that I am indeed getting audio with files from a Sony NEX FS-100 camera, with CS5.5.2 on my systems. Oded, would it be possible to send me a sample file that exhibits this issue for you? Things to try are deleting your Media cache (Preferences > Media > Media Cache Database, click Clean button). Make certain that your copy of Premiere Pro is activated: check under Help menu you should see "Deactivate..." noted. Thank you.

Premiere Pro CS6 added support for AVCHD files with PCM audio, but this support is not in 5.5.x. AVCHD files with Dolby audio should be supported in CS5.5.x, though. You can download a trial version of CS6 to verify your files import with audio correctly. http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
