here is what is happening when i do this. originally i wasnt sure what it was doing , because there was one seemingly long clip at the end, but then i realised, that it is making all of the clips long and seems to be overlapping them.

simplest way i can answer that is that, its not having the desired effect. either it only resizes one clip, or it resizes a bunch of them, leaving one very long one at the end and one very short one at the beginning. and it moves stuff on the other tracks too. and in response to jim simons post above. the normal selection tool, as mentioned above, only resizes one clip.

are you saying that if i select multiple clips in the timeline, and move the edit point on one of them, the others will move aswell? its not work for me, only the one clip on which i move the edit point changes, the others remain same. holding down shift or anything else doesnt seem to do it either.

i need to adjust multiple clips in the timeline, to match the tempo of the music in the timeline. i need to do it in bulk so that the clips are all the same size as each other. if i understand you correct, the edit points you are referring to, are done in the source monitor individually in which case, i dont have the music there as a reference for starters. maybe im missing something.....

well these are photos, so in and out points would not be relevant in this case. what i need to do is change their duration to match the beat of the background music. resize may be the wrong choice of word here.

im sure i used to be able to select multiple clips in the timeline, and by dragging the end of one of them, they will all resize , but in v 2018 it seems to only resize one file. when i click, alt, shift or other keys it doesnt seem to do it either.

ok i have come up with a workaround, by duplicating the original text & photo comp. muting the photos on the new comp, and muting the text on the old comp. this gives me the desired effect.

ok just one more thing.... i do need some effects between the photos and the text, to make the text pop out more. but im limited since i cannot put something between the text files and the photos. is there a way to , say, create a layer in a master comp, and tell it to basically do what another layer in one of the lower comps is doing. in this case, to show the same text that these text files are showing? that way i can keep the photos and the original text files in a comp of their own, possibly mute the original text files, and then but all my effects and stuff in a master comp where i can seperate the text and the photos. kinda complicated question, but its something i have often wondered actually.

someone has send me a load of photos of wedding coupled to edit into a montage they have carefully named each of the photos with the name of bride and groom they want me to overlay some text onto the video, as each photo appears, the name of the couple will appear its quite a lot of photos, about 100. im just wondering , is there any quick way to get AE to do this without having to do this manually?

this is not really practical, because a plugin like lumetri color has too many parameters, it is possible that one will not even remember what parameters were used, and in fact, i do not think the "curves" part of that plugin can be keyframed either (needless to day it is also very difficult to put those kind of parameters back to zero once they are set up. duplicating the clip and fading between them also works to some extent, but this can become complicated in certain scenarios. i wonder why a simple Toggle on-off switch for an effect cannot be keyframed.

this must be something simple, but i cannot seem to find a way to do it id like to keyframe on and off the lumetri color effect, for example, this is so that i can use the clip in my VFX showreel and show what things look like with, and without the effect. but the toggle button for activating the effects does not have any stopwatch for keyframing any ideas how it can be done? thankyou

got some banding in my footage which i did not notice when i was shooting. i think it was caused by the lights in the venue , they were dimmable lights which may be LED based, i had problems elsewhere in the venue with other lights, for which no shutter speed seemed to get rid of, at least in the other part of the venue i was able to pre-empt the problem, and use my own video lights to light the scene. in this case however i didnt even notice these tiny bands in the frame until i got home to my computer. im wondering how to reduce or get rid of them. any ideas? see images below, there are three lines that i can see

hi kevin, i did not find a solution. i found a workaround for some projects ,diabling lumetri color, and re creating it again did the trick one time. but i still experienced the occasional black frame on exports which were not using lumetri color. i still have no explanation as to what is the exact cause.

im noticing random black frames appearing in my comps and rendering out with them aswell i located one of them down to an adjustment layer with lumetri color plugin, there are no key frames or any gaps between clips that would cause a black frame, there are no changes of any sort at this point in time yet the black frame appears when i dublicate the adjustment layer and mute the original layer it goes away, i guess it may be a bug just wanted to alert you to this, and perhaps if there is anything anyone can add that may help would be awesome to have a feature that can detect black frames because they are a bit annoying to look for
