Yes, I have seen the location. I just like to control it. Certainly, all these programs smartly manage their cache, like Adobe PremiereElements, PremierePro, PhotoShop, LightRoom CCCL (Video & Photo differently), Lightroom CC... And they do it all in separate places. (not to mention non-Adobe apps like DXO:Photolab and others So, I just like to have control while my valuable C:SSD storage space gets eaten away faster than I can watch it....

How can I change the Cache Location for LRCC? I found how to change the backup Location but have not seen how to change the Cache location. The default Location is some place on the C Drive (for Win10).

Dear Kulpreet, I simply do "add media" or "import" (or similar, I am not in front of PPrem) into a new project. (I tried the same withe Premiere Elememts and it does not work there too) Meanhwile I saw that Ppro does not embed Meta data in MP4 files but does only Sidecars there. I am not sure if LR reads those sidecars, so trying another export option (which one?) may help.

I have Video Clips from my Sony A7II. When I import them into Lightroom, the "Shot Date" is loaded as "Video Metadata" and used correctly as "Capture Time" 2016-12-24T21:12:56+1:00 When I load the same Clip into PremierePro 2018 and save the Clip as MP4, then the "shot date" is lost. When I load this PPro file into Lightroom, the "capture date" is set to the date when PPro created the said file. How do I have to work in PPro to retain the "shot date" as "capture date"?

JPEG's 8 bit are not linear. This is easily noticed by trying to correct an indoor photo taken with wolfram light or led light and daylight camera setting - one can not correct that satisfactorily from a Jpeg, only from a raw.

With Photolab from DXO you can convert Raws into 16bit Tiff files that contain all color depth you want. Tiff is supported with Ppro, I hope that 16 bit Tiffs are also supported.

Btw: sometimes I like the photos to have captions included. With EXIF Data I am never sure how these will be seen later, like in 10 years. So I also burn the captions into the Jpeg with Mogrify and then re-import those JPEG's into my master catalog.

I have many catalogs, but I do create one master catalog for syncing. So once I am happy with a collection, then I export it as catalog, load that catalog into my master catalog and sync.

I think I understand this now, but it is, I have to say, worded wrongly on the website. The 100Gbyte Cloud are worded exactly the same for Single App add on or AllApp. This is simply misleading. Sure, now it seems better to take all Apps for the current price. Just as an extra twist: What about the non-annual monthly plan options "AllAPPS". Are the 100Gbyte then aded and removed "dynamicaly" as I pay my subscrition or cancel it for a couple of months?

This is may be too simple to ask but I am lost: With the PhotoPlan I get either 20 Gbyte if I stay with LRCCCL & PS or 1 Tbyte if I go LRCC only (for under 10USD; or LRCCCL&LRCC&PS with 1Tbyte for under 20USD) If I take the "All Apps" packagage, I seem to get 100Gbyte of some creative cloud, but can I use that 100Gbyte for LRCC? How much LRCC cloud space is then included in the Aall Apps" deal? (The default 20Gbyte?) I tried already with a PremPro Plan: The 100Gybte I get there have nothing to do with the LRCC cloud space!! That is what the support-chat says. I find this confusing, because for the Photoplan it says: "20 GB of cloud storage" and for a PremierePro Plan it says "Includes 100GB of cloud storage". So, these are then different clouds? At least legaly this is a confusing matter. Or was the help desk wrong and there is a hidden switch somewhere saying "merge clouds"? I strongly recommend Adobe to change their cloud wording quickly or clarify the matter.

I had Lr, Ps, PPro and AME in German. I changed my cloud app to English (win10) and deinstalled and reinstalled all. Everything appeared in English, except AME, that stayed in German. What do I need to do to have AME in English?

If anybody is still interested: Cut video (in my case 90 minutes of digitised Hi8) in large pieces (5-30 minutes) Fine-cut these pieces with "Smart Trim". (Name the pieces if you like, but these names are not taken by PPRO) Save Project - load in PremierePro All these large pieces that were worked at with "SmartTrim" are now in a bin as seperate clips! Select these pieces and edit the Metadata (DublinCore: Label) Export (wokrs with "Queue" with all clips in a bin) Load into Bridge: Search & Organize via Keyword. Dublin_Label becomes Basic-Keyword. Load into Lightroom. Dublincore-Label content is recognised as Keywords, Title and Label from IPTC are there, also the Rating. The above does not work by simply cutting Video in PremElements. The cuts have to be worked at with "SmartTrim" so that PrPro sees them a seperate Clips.

I am new to video editing. I just wonder how people do it. I have a lot of 90 minute material, either plays, church etc etc. Now I want to select the best segments, around 10 minutes in 30 cuts. I learned how to cut and then trim etc on the timeline. If I come back the next day and change my mind, or I get a request for a person that needs to be seen in a cut, I need to search for that scene. Thus is diffult with the timeline. Sure, I can change the in and out points and start looking...In the Smart Trim module, I can move the CTI over material that is no longer part of the cuts and find stuff. That works only in the smart trim module so it seem ... I find that odd and am checking if I overlooked something?

"Smart Trim" puts Windows over selected parts and merges them later. I like that because I can easily see what has been left out. I use Smart Trim even in manual mode for that. Is such a method also possible for the timeline? So far, I can only see cuts with in- and outpoints which make it not that easy to look for stuff that is outside of these cuts. Or am I missing something? Is Premiere Pro different?

So I found ClipMate: This PC-Software allows copying of Clips between Projects. It does not work the first time; one has the to enable all boxes in the freshly created PremElem appprofile. It does not copy the Clip Name, Clips can no be broken apart, it probably does not copy Transition etc. But at least it allows to move all Clips into one Project,that is a start. I hope I find a way to search for the Clips Name.

Steve, I may have expressed myself incorrectly: The clips are pieces that I cut along the timeline. These cuts generate short pieces that I call Clips. I gave each clip a name. Now they are all lined up on my timeline. But I want to save each of them using the name I gave them and/or arrange them in a list so I can search for them, like "Birthday_Herbert".

I am new to Premiere Elements. I have split up my Family Videos into meaningfull Clips, like BirthdayXXXX, XmasYYYY... Now I want to see an overview over allt these clips in a kind of alphabetic or other order. How can I do that? I also like to save all these clips for later retrieval or further keywording in Bridge (or other). Can I do that? I hoped that by importing a PremElem(2018) project into Premiere Pro(2018) I would be able to still see the clips. I can not make that happen. Upon importing into PremPro 2018(Trial), all Clips are gone. There is only one "sequence", but that covers the whole video without breaks. What am I doing wrong?

Is this windows? This can then happen because LR puts your photos in some ridiculous tree structure below User unless you defined another path. Did you change your user name? Then that tree will be different and LR will not find the raws. Search for one raw and check the folder where it is and the point LR to that folder.

I guess it is too late now, but the Undo button works great for problems with collections. I sometimes do something and then all photos are removed from a collection. I believe this is caused by the two different "select" signs. Select all photos in a collection makes them white, clicking on one of these photo then makes that super white. That is a recipe for problems as one can easily only mean one photo but all are still selected.

In case that LR CC only has a smart preview, then it will use this in photoshop. For whatever reason it calls it a dng file while you work with it. When you save, it is saved as Tiff ( in my Photoshop at least) and then uploaded to CC and stacked with your original smart preview. The Tiff is called *-edit.tiff in LR CC as you can see with the info button. That Tiff is then downsynced into your shared CCCL collection and appears there next to your original file where the smart preview was uploaded in CC, of course with the limited resolution pertinent to smart previews. When you delete that Tiff in CC, then it is removed from CCCL. (when you edit a smart preview in CC, then changes are downsynced to CCCL and these are applied to your original there, hence you retain changes in full resolution)

I understood that smart previous were not counted versus the initial storage space of 20 Gbyte, there was also an unlimited space for those before. When I installed the new LR CC I noticed that it saw right away 3.7 GByte used already, but I had not uploaded anything else than smart previews into the cloud before (syncs from old LR). So, am I wrong and smart previews do count now or is this a bug?

Are you sure that you did actually work with that catalog ever? May be you created it but never loaded any photos into it but rather worked with another catalog by accident. You may want search all discs and folder for a lrcat file.

It works on my system. Did you work on a photo that you had worked at before in DXO? Try a new export from LR to PL and then back again. Does that work? LR will show a new collection "Photolab".

You cannot. But you can upload these Videos with LRCC. Either select them piece by piece. Or export a collecting containing them all as catalog and open that catalog in LRCC. Like that you have Smart previews synced via LR classic and videos via CC

That works. I downloaded the findreplace plugin from the same website as the exif plugin. The findreplace plugin allows sequential numbering of the Beschriftung field. So I can then sort by that. It does only do increments by 1, but I drop the developer an email, may be he listens.

I just tried it. "Beschriftungstext" is "Beschriftung" (6 lines below the arrow). And it works: I can enter a number in there and it will sort the photos with it, photos without text come first. Now, does the Exif tool (or anything else), create automatic number for "Beschriftung"? (which is what in english?)
