I have a script that adds a menu under the Select All menu. But I can not target the menu language independent. I tried "Select_All", "SelectAll' and even "Select All" but it does not work in other languages. I'm using a Dutch install. When I insert 'Clear' it does add under 'Wissen' in the Dutch version (Wissen=Clear) Now I'm using this: var fileMenu = app.menus.item("$ID/Main").submenus.item("$ID/&Edit"); var refItem = fileMenu.menuItems.item("Alles selecteren"); Alles Selecteren is the Dutch entry for Select All, but I want to make this work in any language. Does anyone know what to target as $ID here? Thanks!

That is the difference between RGB (screen) and CMYK (print). First let's make sure you understand that difference (in Gamut). Then second make sure what you want and need: if the document is for screen only, change the Transparency Blend mode to RGB. If it is for print: that is the way it is, the laws of physics for reflective and subtractive colors...

First, of course, this problem is not InDesign but the printer setup and the printer drivers. Second: we need to know what Colour Management settings you use: do you let InDesign do the colour managent or the printer do it. Sometines noth happens, which is bad of course. We have no way of telling what you do on the Mac site and on the PC side. In short: we need more information anout you workflow but we can not answer questions about your printer software or settings as we can not look in your systems from here of course.

All interactivity from the Overlays panel is only meant for DPS or AEM as it is now called, so it will not work in Publish Online or FXL ePub.

Yes, ie11 does not support this. Why not use Publish Online, this works in every browser. You should forget interactive PDF for now as it will only work correctly in Acrobat Reader, the rest is a gamble...

This question has been asked a few times before here, the answer is GPU acceleration. For some this makes this behaviour not work correctly. Try turning GPU acceleration off in the preferences to see if that makes a difference.

Yes, DataMerge is your answer with many sources (database) for serial publishing. If you just need a reference to be the same in only one document, then you can use Variables. A Variable can be changed so it will change everywhere where you used the variable. See Adobe InDesign Help for more info.

It is a little bug that had to do with using GPU acceleration or not, try to toggle this preference and see if that makes a difference. Of course as always it is a 'patient user mode' so you have to wait a second before dragging to see this effect 😉

My guess would be that he means normal preview, not overprint, and that elements are set to non-print (check the Attributes panel to see if non printing for elements is checked) or that it all is on a layer that is set to non print.

InDesign has a range of colours that 'highlight': Pink for missing fonts, green for kerning etc., blue for local overrides, yellow for keep violations etc. etc. So first thing to ask: which colour do you see?

No no no! If you are using ALT-SHIFT click place you are NOT using the Primary text frame but auto flow! please read again: it is or/or. When you create a new document pleae make sure Primary text frame is checked, then place your cursor inside the first text frame and place. If Primary text frame is NOT checked, only then you use ALT-SHIFT. They are DIFFERENT ways for auto folowing text!

First place your Text cursor tool in the primary text frame on the page so the cursor blinks, then choose place to place the text in that frame. Forget the 'old' way of using the shift/alt-shift key when placing (it is OR primary text frame OR place with shift!)
