This is not at all "the latest update". This is from 27 months ago. There have been two more updates to each of cf2021 and cf2018 since then, the last being in October. If you apply that, or the one between them from May of 2022, you will get all the log4j updates at once.
This post was about the initial response(s) to the log4j vuln.
As for what it's "major points" are, we only have the info offered. If you might mean instead what are the DETAILS (what specific files were changed), we were not given that.
But again, see my first point: yiub should not be stopping at this update from Dec 2021. The updates are cumulative, so go to the May 2022 or Dec 2022 update. See the link above that offers a page for each release and all its updates.

Can I pile on here? My rhel8.7 server has both IPv6 and IPv4 enabled. It seems ColdFusion and Tomcat are both picking IPv6 instead of IPv4. I added Java options to the jvm.config "-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Djava.net.preferIPv4Addresses=true" but they don't seem to have any effect. Is there another way to have ColdFusion builtin web server use IPv4? Thanks, Dan Mather

Adobe Learning Manager native portal will support Non logged in way of accessing the training site.
This feature as an ability to allow ALM Admins to create a learning portal that can be browsed by general public without requiring to login.
Prerequisite for the non-logged in homepage is Training Data access connector to be enabled:
Training Data access connector
Use the Training Data Access connector to export training metadata to Adobe Learning Manager based non-logged-in interface and regularly synchronize training information. This enables the interface to render correct information to learners and realize a seamless training search.
Training Data access connector must be enabled in your Adobe Learning Manager account.
This specific functionality is available only if Adobe Learning Manager is sold as an Add on to Adobe Experience Manager.
In case you only wish to use this feature within the Native portal, you can contact the Adobe Learning Manager support team(learningmanagersupport@adobe.com) or your ALM account manager (CSAM) for assistance.
The following steps can be followed if your account already has the feature Training Data access connector enabled:
Integration Admin
Login into your ALM account as an Integration Admin > Connector > Training Data Access > Connect
Enter the Connection Name > Please select the Type of interface as Native Learning Manager > Click on Connect
When the connection is created, click on Training Metadata after it has been created to enable the feature and export training metadata > check the box - Enable training metadata export using this connector > Click Save. The connection will execute without issue if the connector is enabled.
When setting up the system, please do an on-demand export of Training Metadata to push all the trainings onto your Non-logged in page. Upon completion of the execution, the page can be created.
Non logged in Homepage creation:
Steps to be taken:
In the Admin portal, select Branding > Choose Non-logged In Homepage
The Non-logged in page lets you customize what the learners will see on the homepage for non-logged in learners.
Currently, there are three sections you can customize: Banner, Categories, and Catalog
Step 1: Banners:
Banners can be added to promote a marketing announcement or feature the trending topic of the day.
Select Add banner.
You can also provide a link as an action button with the banner image.
Step 2: Add categories.
This component can be used to filter catalog by Skills, Tags, and catalog. This section contains a header and description for each category. Upon clicking, the user is redirected to the catalog page with the applied filters.
Select Add category. Then enter the details for the category.
Save the category. The category is added to the section. Currently three categories are mandatory.
Step 3: Catalog
This catalog section by default this will show all the trainings which is available in the Platform.
Learners can choose trainings based on their interests.
Filters will be applied to the Non logged in page according to your ALM account settings.
After adding all the section information click on Save
The Homepage URL will be generated.
Sample Non-Logged in Page.
URL: https://learningmanager.adobe.com/guest/adobesystemspvtltd/home
Non-logged-in learners will be able to view the training and register themselves to gain access to it through the non-logged-in page.
Under Non-logged In Homepage setup page > Under Default profile for user-registration > Click on Change
A pop-up will appear for Selection.
In the Non-Logged in page, Admin will decide how the Learner needs to register with their ALM account.
For the learner to get registered, you can select any option. In case the learners need to be registered as internal users, you can select the Internal Profile (for self-registration) option and select the Self-registration profile name from the dropdown.
In case they need to be registered as external users, you can select the External Profile and select the profile name from the dropdown.
Based on the above setup, Once the Learner clicks on the training, they will be redirected to the Self registration page to register themselves and access the training.

Updating a module with the latest version of Adobe Learning Manager: How to replace a content/module in a course without disturbing the user’s progress.
Problem Statement: It is observed that Authors sometimes replace the content at the course level, rather than updating it at the content level. Replacing the content at the course level impacts the user’s progress, user progress will show zero progress if the course has only one module. Role: Author Brief Description:
It is recommended to replace/update the modules at the content library (see the screenshot below) rather than at the course level. This will ensure the user's progress remains intact. Once you update/replace the content here, clicking the upload icon (marked in the red circle in step 4) will update all courses that have this content, with the latest version.
Steps to be followed:
Log in as Author
Go to Content Library
Open the content to be updated/replaced and click on edit
Remove the existing content and upload the new one. Then save.
Find the updated content and then click on the upload icon (see the screenshot below). This will update all course that have this content, with the latest version.

Mpinets, you'd asked in Oct here about the removal of the log viewer in the admin. I don't see any reply, but in an point you to another thread which came up here a few days later, and I'd seen and responded to that with a discussion and solution to consider:

I'll share a different tip, as long as you're resurrecting this older thread. In the original post, the OP didn't indicate whether and what they set for the -dir argument of the wsconfig command. That's where the connector tool would try to a) PLACE the mod_jk.so file and then b) write the updated httpd.conf file (as you can see in the info above from Priyank, showing "Created file /etc/httpd/conf/mod_jk.so" and then "Wrote file /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf").
If somehow the user running this tool does not have the authority to write to that named folder (in his case, /etc/httpd/conf), then this step would fail which would seem to lead to that error ("Coldfusion could not locate the connector for this configuration") .
I bring this up also because the only other reference on the web (that I could find) for that error message is another forum thread here. And we can see in their verbose (-v) command output, the last step that worked before their getting that error is what's indicated above (from Priyank), where then the next steps were about that creating/chmod'ing of that modjk.so and updating of the httpd.conf.
And FWIW in that other post they don't show setting ANY -dir argument. While the docs on the tool indicate it's optional, they don't say what it defaults to, either. It's of course critical to know WHERE the tool would be trying to place the modjk.so and trying to update the httpd.conf, for all this to work right.
Again, I bring all this up in case you or anyone may find this thread while searching for more on that error. It seems worth making sure first WHAT is the -dir value and second ensuring that the user running wsconfig has authority to write to that folder.
Indeed, I note finally that neither this thread or the other or the docs page shows using sudo (or su) to run the wsconfig. That could be another way to ensure you have right authority to that folder.
Hope that's helpful. Apologies to others already participating in this thread if this proves not to apply somehow to your situation.

Hi @SamerNafith ,
The 503 error is probably not related to the size of isapi_redirect.log. In all likelihood, the 503 has to do with the following connector settings:
secret
address
(1) In workers.properties, specify the secret property. This can be any string you choose. But use a UUID, for example, a UUID generated by means of the ColdFusion function createUUID().
worker.cfusion.secret=b242832c-0d0c-a3b8-8b34edef24bfb1fd
(2) In \cfusion\runtime\conf\server.xml, add an attribute called secret to the connector XML element. Make sure it has the same value as the secret in workers.properties.
Also add an attribute called address, giving it the value "::1".
<!-- AJP connector -->
<Connector port="8018" connectionTimeout="60000" redirectPort="8453" protocol="AJP/1.3" tomcatAuthentication="false" maxThreads="1000" address="::1" secret="b242832c-0d0c-a3b8-8b34edef24bfb1fd"/>
Save the changes and restart ColdFusion.

Hi Peter,
Yes, you can run both the version on the same server and you can also run then parallel. However, you cannot run same website with both the version as you can only create a connector with one version. If you create a connector with both of them, it will override the connector. So to run the website with specific version of CF, you have to create individual connector with CF for that site.
In case, you have a CF already installed on this server, please ensure you remove the connector first from older version using wsconfig utility and then create the connector with websites and different CF version.
I hope this clarifies any doubt you may have.

Ok, we've now learned in a reply from Adobe (Priyank) in another forum thread that the path issue and Java arg are about xmltransform (not xmlsearch). The update technotes don't clarify that, and I've asked there if he could get that changed.
Then, too, he clarified that this need to recompile cf code (or clear the cfclasses) is about xmlsearch. That explains the mixed messages above in this thread.
I've also asked there if each of these different issues affect any other cfml functions/tags related to xml processing.

All great to hear. Yep, an update from 13 to 14 should be uneventful. And there should be no need of any connector update (it did not change with 14), nor should there be any NEED of a change to the server.xml (but Vikram's suggestion is still worth trying).
That said, how long had it been since you restarted the cf instance, BEFORE the update? I ask because your issue may not be with the update, but with some change made to cf or its config files (including that server.xml) that was made previously but would not take effect until a cf restart. It's worth checking.
And either way, you asked about a log for the internal web server. There's no separate one, as it starts up "within" cf (as it were). So look to the coldfusion-out.log and coldfusion-error.log, for the lines during cf startup (when you have this problem), to see what it may complain about. There may be an issue with some config file that might be obvious. Let us know if you see something but can't connect the dots.
