I have my own mixed feelings on this based on similar past situations and so I'd like to remind everyone about preferences that we all know and understand well. If you own a pizzaria and there's an pizzaria down the road makes good pizza it doesn't mean you have to buy them out. If you own a sandwich shop and there's a sandwich shop down the road that makes good sandwiches you don't have to buy them out. If you own a burger joint and there's another burger joint down the road it doesn't mean you have to buy them out. FYI Multiplatform is less of an issue than it used to be. Depending on the environment you can create a Mac app as easily as a Windows app. Again, this is using the newer development environments. However, if one platform has a library that the other doesn't then it can cause major lag as it has to have feature parity. The interesting part here seems to do with Microsoft's interests in Figma. They like Figma at Microsoft. Another issue may be the Mac M1 architecture upgrades for the desktop tools. If that's the case then Figma's browser based environment would be less platform issues. But, running Electron apps has always been much slower than native apps unless somethings changed. In other words this move is baffling unless it's to consolidate customers. I've tried Figma a few times and always returned to XD. But a lot of comments here seem to have people who like both.

Hi I had the same problem. There were only two buttons on the main view in Creative Cloud. IIRC it was Purchase and Trial? I noticed I was also out of date. So I went to the updates section of Creative Cloud. There was an option to update. After update the message did not appear at start of XD.

I haven't exported in a while but when I used to export a scene node as PNG it would export 1x and 2x. If the layer was named, "MyIcon" then it would export: MyIcon.png
MyIcon@2x.png Now it only exports MyIcon.png. I'm going to the menu as File > Export > Selected. How do I export both the 1x and 2x at the same time like before? Adobe XD 51.0.12.6 OSX 10.15.7

Hi Peter, That will share a link to the project (prototype) that is visible on the web and maybe even interactive but there is not an "Open in XD" or "Download this XD" project.

Hi Harshika, I want to share the XD project or artboard with other XD users. For example, let's say I am an XD online teacher and in an online zoom class I want to show you, my online students, how to create a rectangle in XD and share the project with the class. I would do this in this order: Create an XD project Create a rectangle Click a link to share the document Share that link in the zoom chat Student downloads link to XD project and opens it in XD Currently, if I want to share a document I have to enter each persons name one by one. I'm going to push back on this because of the "newish" background feature. Go ahead all the text elements and a non-white rectangle and put them in a group. Make sure to avoid this bug mentioned. Then right click on the background in the layers panel and select "Make background". The background is now and must be part of the same group as the text elements for this feature to work. Then click the Stack option. Optionally, add padding. For some reason, I hadn't heard of this feature but happened to stumble upon it.

I don't mind the splash screen with the free tier but it would depend on more information. I would suggest a few things on the pricing models: Personal • For individuals with AIR-related income less than $50kpa • $9.99 per month or $99/year (new price or introductory first year price?) • Support via web channels or add Royalty options: • 2%-4% percent That way they succeed as we succeed. I'm also dealing with the subscription vs one time payment option. If they have a pay per version option that creates a incentive to add features. A $99 price for version 33 and then upgrade price to get version 34. In version 34 is support for a new WebView, increased texture memory, Linux support. In upgrade to 35 is AS4, IDE upgrades, console support (I'm making a wish list ), etc. It's an older pricing model but it checks out. Aside rant: (Apple and Google stores need to go down to 10% then a 10% as royalty or tooling would be OK). 30% is too much. 30% royalty to stores, ~30% to taxes, 30% / 3 people team is 10% per sale per app. Outrageous. People can't live on that.

With scripting there is currentDocument.resizeImage() and currentDocument.resizeCanvas(). The resizeImage() method will stretch the image. The resizeCanvas() will resize the canvas but not change the size of the image. I'm looking to resize the canvas to a new size but keep the aspect ratio of the content. Is there a way to do this?

Yes. I need an update as well. New websites are not loading because SVG and data uri images are not supported in the old webkit. Many pages are not viewable. BTW There is an odd file with the AIR webkit dll. It is named Notice_WebKit.txt. It says:
Under the terms of the GNU Library General Public License, you are permitted to make changes to the Webkit library for your own use, and Adobe delivers with the installed Adobe software the object code that links with the Webkit library, as required by the GNU LGPL. You are also permitted to reverse engineer only those portions of the Adobe software that link with and utilize the Webkit library, and only to the extent necessary to debug your changes to the Webkit library. Any other reverse engineering, decompiling or use of utilities or tools to trace, probe, or reveal Adobe software and trade secrets embodied therein, is expressly prohibited. Adobe software contains valuable trade secrets and employs methods protected by patents of Adobe Software Incorporated.
I have tried using a new version of webkit.dll and the version number is the same or the app immediately closes (using AIR 3.6 not tried newer). I have spent a few days on this. New websites do not load and some are broken, even Adobe sites because of img data uri not showing.

I was tired of exporting and keeping track of all of the app icons so I created an extension to create the default icons here. It will create all the icons for you from your main high resolution image (PSD). I don't know how to price it so it's temporarily on sale.
