Went to the registry and applied middle.aged.hack solution AGAIN. Working now. To quote MAH "There's no question this is an installer bug and I imagine it's going to hit anyone who upgrades from CS6 to CC. The fix is easy if you are comfortable with editing the registry but it should be fixed in the installer. This is an Adobe bug, plain and simple." Perhaps when Adobe CC automatically updates from a 32 bit to a 64 bit version of Acrobat, WITHOUT warning users that plug-ins will stop working, is the time Adobe SHOULD START supporting the installation of multiple versions of Acrobat on the same machine. At the very least they should RECOMMEND that users do not upgrade until they are sure their plug-ins will work with the new version. Just discovered that the Windows version is still 32 bit, so the old plugins are working!! They just need to be copied to the new plugins directory. Now a whole new issue with the installation of 2014. "open" and "edit" now work fine, launching 2014. But "Open with..." (eg. when opening a jpg) only gives me the option of opening with CC, no CC 2014 in sight. I am having the same issues and it's killing my PC, just running horrendously slow at startup! Multiple instances of "Another instance of Distiller is busy starting up. This instance cannot continue." Completely unintalled Acrobat XI Pro and reinstalled. No Help. Notice 2 instances on Acrobat showing as installed in "Programs and Features" in Win 7 x64 Pro. Come on Adobe! THIS IS SERIOUS AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. It is causing my system to freeze and the only way to shut down is switching off the power, ctrl-alt-del and task manager also frozen. Oh, ok. Can't do that. Too far in the past for system restore. I doubt if that would work for any users going forward. Like me people will only discover the error when they see the error log and they don't look very often. If they find it now they'll see it stretching back to July. So I think there needs to be a fix.
