No, cookies are not "fixed" If you loged in recently, your cookie was rewritten from permanent to session... so you have to log in every time... this happened to me at home Here at work, where my computer was off over the weekend, my cookies did not hit the "golden window" and I am good to go without a login... or, when I "linked" my ID according to the new rules from home (and cookies were reset) here at work where I of course use the same login ID the cookies were not reset Anyway... this will all HOPEFULLY sort itself out in April with the new forum ... Just to add to the mess-iness I hit problems on Friday, when I got home after work... those problems are still there this morning when I went to (tried to) login with my morning coffee Have to login each time and message about secure/non-secure every time I click on a link When I got to work... no problems at all I know that that whatever the web programmers did on Friday completely hosed my home cookies, but did not hit the ones here at work since I wasn't here to go to Adobe... so when I get home today, I'm going to delete them all and start over Hopefully, deleting all my home cookies and starting fresh will fix the problems I'm having there... The Encore forum seems to have turned off cookies I have to log in every time I visit, and every click pops up a message asking if I want to display secure and non-secure items As Kath said... I have not looked at the sample forums linked elsewhere (something about "Jive" being the new software) but I probably should That said... I only go to one cfusion forum, for Dreamweaver... and there are people over there who are saying they will "leave forever" when the new forums are put in place I like the look here (I go to about a half dozen webx forums) and can tolerate the one cfusion forum I visit... but it is certainly the case that people on BOTH sides of the current forums are not happy But, as was mentioned in one of the FAQs here, the current software on either side does not have the capacity to keep up with the message volume... so I guess change is just going to happen There may be a few people who really do leave forever... and that's too bad... but the nature of the computer world is change, or we'd all still be using Windoze 3x ... I have no way to know if this "oddity" is at Adobe's servers, the Internet in general, or my DSL connection... but I have noticed that *sometimes* I will click a message link and the progress bar at the bottom (Internet Explorer) will limp along like a snail on a cold day Sometimes (again, not always) if I click the red "stop" X at the top and then immediately click the message link again, it will "quickly" appear What I *think* is happening is that the command I sent out at the first click has somehow been lost in the bowels of the Internet, and just stopping that process and starting again results in a properly processed address request But... that is just a guess ... Very spotty performance the past several days (Vancouver WA USA) with some clicks leading to a screen display in about a second, and others taking up to about half a minute I have no idea if that is Adobe's servers, or general Internet traffic About traffic... had a discussion with one of our IT staff a few days ago about spam I work at a branch campus of a University, with about 900 employees and 4-5 thousand students, so about 6k email accounts I was told that our AVERAGE daily incoming spam count is about 300k, with one day a few weeks ago of just over one million messages (99+ percent are captured by our dedicated spam "device" but a few do get through... I receive about a dozen a day... while the software in the "device" adjusts to new parameters entered from the "device" home base... I think it is a "Barracuda" device) Anyway, with that number just at this small place, it boggles my mind to think about the number of messages flying around, and clogging up, the Internet on a daily basis I guess I am surprised that ANYTHING gets through on a timely basis ...
