You can't. Background images are not part of the HTML; they are part of the CSS. To make images clickable aka hyperlinked you need to insert them into your HTML. <img src="some_image"> Hyperlinked image: <a href="some_link.html"><img src="some_image"></a> Nancy O.

Download the Cycle plug-in script and save it to your local site folder. Muse will never replace Dreamweaver. Muse = consumer level software mainly for amateurs & hobbyists who have little or no coding experience. The code Muse produces is bloated and often difficult to edit in anything but Muse. So if you ever drop your subscription to Muse (Creative Cloud), you may have a hard time updating your site. Dreamweaver = professional level software for developers of commercial/enterprise level web sites. The code DW produces is web standards compliant and can be edited in almost any HTML/plain text editor. Very different products aimed at very different users. Nancy O.

OK. I typed the Name manually. But I neglected to hit the tab key twice to arrive at the Value input field. I'm reviewing this tutorial by David Powers and I'm using CS6. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/first_dynamic_site_pt2.html Everything went well until I tried to add query string parameters to links (EDIT and DELETE) on the manage_posts.php page. "You add a query string to the end of a link through the Parameters dialog box, and bind the primary key from the recordset. Although it's a simple operation, many people tend to get it wrong, so follow the next steps carefully." I did. In fact I did it twice. Both times DW inserted = sign in the wrong place. DWCS6 code: <td><a href="update_post.php?<?php echo $row_getPosts['post_id']; ?>=<?php echo $row_getPosts['post_id']; ?>">EDIT</a></td> Corrected Code: <td><a href="update_post.php?post_id=<?php echo $row_getPosts['post_id']; ?>">EDIT</a></td> Anyone else experiencing this? If deprecated code floats your boat, there's nothing preventing you from applying it in Code View. Keep in mind that browsers continually issue new releases while e-mail clients like Outlook and Windows Mail remain basically the same. What works in one may not necessarily work well in the other. The point that I was trying to make is that if it's still used, why get rid of it? With each new release, modern web browsers move one step closer to realizing full standards compliance. Eventually deprecated code will be ignored by all browsers such that <align> & <center> will have no effect other than throwing errors into the HTML. DW is targeted mainly at web designers who want standards compliant code; not e-mail designers. Anyhow, so what are these other tools you mention for email? There's no CSS in HTML EMAILS!!! Sure there is. But it's inline or inside the <body> tags. http://alt-web.com/Articles/HTML-Emails.shtml Align has been deprecated since HTML4. If it's deprecated, you won't find it in CS6 which endeavors to produce web standards compliant code. If all you're doing is HTML e-mails, I can think of a few other tools that might be a better fit for you. * An unfair comparison. Dreamweaver is not and never has been a WYSIWYG editor. Nancy O.

Dave, I have never attacked the ACP program. I think ACPs do great work and should be recognized for their contributions with an appropriate title. you cannot be an employee and an ACP. Right. My point exactly. If title colors must be introduced into the forum (which I don't think is necessary BTW) then ACPs and Employees deserve different colors. Nancy O.

Hi Mike, Some people just haven't learned how to behave and treat people badly. Sometimes it is caused by understandable frustration, sometimes people are just poorly behaved. Most of the time, this is true. But the situation I cited above is a little different. P0gue assumed Carey (AE) and Murray (CP) were both Community Professionals and said as much in his post. "You are an Adobe 'Community Professional' on the Adobe.com support forum. How much more direct can we get?... ...I find your response inadequate. Since you are an Adobe representative, and your job is to monitor this forum, can you please advise the Dreamweaver developers about the situation, and report back here as soon as possible with news about when the problems will be fixed?" "I have already sent Carey, also an Adobe 'Community Professional' a screencast, but he disappeared." The title differences went un-noticed because orange on white has symbolically unified them. The subliminal message that got through was "Hey, you guys wear the same colors so you must have equal status at Adobe." Nancy O.

I'm revisiting this topic because I feel very strongly that Adobe Employees and Community Professionals must have separate identifying colors. As it stands now, you're confusing forum users and this confusion is leading to bad feelings. Poor Murray CP just got slammed for not doing enough to help a frustrated product user. How do sites such as, Vans or any name brand clothing sites create their sites? Most likely they have a resident team of professional web developers or they sub-contract out to professional firms. Is it possible to create something similar to theirs using DreamWeaver? Sure. In the same way that you can build a house with a hammer, nails & lumber. Tools don't build projects; people do. If you have the necessary skills, DW is very good tool.

Any change I make requires a 30 second wait with the "not responding" message until it takes effect. Does this happen in Code View? Design View? Live View? Some people have reported issues in Design View when their code contained links to external scripts like Facebook Badges, ADD THIS widgets, etc... Go to View > un-tick Display External Files. Similarly, Live View can get sluggish when these same pages are allowed to execute external JavaScripts. What worked for me is going to View > Live View Options > turning off JavaScripts.

This might not be the answer you were looking for. If it's deprecated, it is gone from CS6. The border attribute of <img> tag has been deprecated since HTML 4.01. Unless the image is inside an anchor <a> tag, images don't have borders. To add them, you need to use CSS. img {border: 2px solid #666} Nancy O.
