One way that you could make the logo appear between the person and the white background would be to create a layer mask on the logo that reveals the person: Open the image of the person on the white background. Place the logo (File > Place Embedded...) If the logo has a background, the in the Properties panel (Window > Properties) in the Quick actions section (you may need to expand the Properties panel down in order to see this section), click remove background. Temporarily turn off visibility of the logo layer (so that it doesn't become part of the selection later) by clicking on the eyeball to the left of its layer. Select the person layer in the Layers panel. With any of the selection tools selected, you'll see Select Subject in the Options bar (if it's not visible, go to Window > Options). Click Select Subject (you can use the dropdown menu to the right of Select Subject to select whether you want the selected created from the Device or the Cloud). While the marching ants (the active selection) showing, toggle the visibility of the logo layer back on by clicking again where the eyeball was, select the logo layer in the Layers panel, and go to Layer > Layer Mask > Hide Selection.

First, there have been a couple of Photoshop updates since you posted, so I'd recommend starting by updating to PS 26.2.0. I'd also recommend working locally if you aren't already. Make sure that your Photoshop file is located on your local hard drive as well as any of your linked assets. On macOS, check the Finder to make sure that you're on you local hard drive as opposed to iCloud which also has a Desktop and a Documents folder. If you've opened an image (as opposed to placing, File > Place Embedded... or File > Place Linked...), then Photoshop will open that image with a single layer. By default, that layer is a Background layer which is a special type of layer. That layer will be named Background and the file name (visible in the open document tab at the top of the document) will be the name of your image. If you place an image, then the layer name will be the same as that image's file name.

Select Sky is similar to Replace Sky in that it creates a selection that you can modify. If you take a look at Replace Sky (Edit > Sky Replacement...), you'll see that the mask it creates gives you flexibility for adjusting the color and the brightness of the sky that would affect the surrounding landscape in the rest of the image. If you want a selection of the sky that is more crisp, you can create a layer mask from that selection and adjust its levels.

It might help if you could show the image that you're creating. Without seeing the image, I would suggest either using the Remove Tool to remove the generated portion that you don't want or generate an entire background where you could place the honey jar that has everything else in the image masked out.

It would help if you gave some more description of what happens after you whatever it is you're trying to do. In general, though, try restarting Photoshop. If that doesn't help, try uninstalling and then reinstalling Photoshop. If that doesn't help, check that you have enough space on your local hard drive. If you don't have much free space, then try uninstalling other Adobe Creative Cloud applications that you aren't using and/or archiving files to an external hard drive or somewhere else besides your local hard drive.

There are a couple of options that you can currently use to access those commands more easily. Use keyboard shortcuts - many of the commands in the contextual menu already have keyboard shortcuts. If you use File > Place Embedded... to place a PNG file, then Photoshop places it as a Smart Object. When you double-click on the Smart Object, then it will open that placed PNG. If you want the contents of the Smart Object to be a PSB, then you could do the following: Double-click on the Smart Object in the document to open the PNG file Use File > Save As... to save a PSB version of the PNG to a location where you can find it Go back to the main document In the Layers panel on the Smart Object layer (and to the right of the thumnail) right-click and in the contextual menu that appears, select Replace Contents... Navigate to the PSB file that you saved

Another option would be to use the Clone Stamp Tool but first use the Clone Source panel (Window > Clone Source) to click on the flip horizontal icon (it's the one directly to the left of the W:). When it's set to be flipped, that icon is darker than the background.

@Trevor.Dennis's recommendation of a reference image is a good one. Using techniques other than AI is probably better. You could also try combining AI generated content or stock images with the original image. For example, if you have a normal window that you'd like to appear broken, use a crack from either a generated image or stock image with a blend mode and a layer mask to transfer that crack to the window of the original image.

I agree with @c.pfaffenbichler. In Illustrator, you can use the Touch Type Tool to manually select and modify individual glyphs. I wonder if that might be scriptable.

If you'd like to add more points to the mesh that you can manipulate, then after you've selected the layer and gone to Edit > Warp, you'll see in the Options bar (Window > Options) some options to the right of Split. You can use these to indicate where on the image you'd like to split the warp crosswise, vertically, or horizontally. You may have better luck selecting separate portions of the building in the image and using AI to generate characteristics that make it appear older. I would recommend targeting each selection with its own prompt such as a "jagged crack with masonry showing," "overgrown weeds," or "broken window."
