Feature to choose which files should be downloaded and which should be kept on the Cloud rather than the entire gamut of files being downloaded to local drive. Online, 1000s of people have asked for this feature, every collegue I work with in the industry complains about this not being in place - we're still awaiting the HUGE need for this feature to be met. What is the point of having cloud storage if you cannot choose to keep things on the cloud. OneDrive, Dropbox and many others allow selective file synchronisation - because you don't need to sync all files all the time and we need to keep harddrives light, save bandwidth and save the planet. Furthermore Adobe, your CC software often bugs out (quite often after an update) and then wants to re-synchronise the entire freaking load of files! This has happened to me probably 10 times now - sometimes I've ended up with two Creative Cloud folders alongside each other - what a bloody waste of time, energy, blah blah blah. You'd think Adobe would have more noggin. Come on Adobe, this one is a no-brainer. Or is that a question?

CC and XD do not allow opening of XD files from Synce files. I hate Cloud Docs because if there is no internet I cannot work. Therefore I only ever use Synced files so i can work offline on local PC, then sync & share with colleagues or customers online. But XD is stupid: it doesn’t allow access to Synced files on iOS! Come Adobe! Get it right!

Why does Apple choose a non-standard format that costs everyone more money and hassle?! Apple are isolating themselves more and more. I just heard that LastPass (LogMeIn) can no longer be used on Apple devices because they are shutting down the plugin options for 3rd party password software developers - to be replaced by their own, of course! LastPass are withdrawing from iOS. That would be anti-competitive. Now where have we seen that before? mmm, oh yes: Adobe!

It’s incredible, they can randomly shut down Business Catalyst and Muse affecting thousands of agencies and customers, purposely avoid cooperating with major technology innovators like Apple and still get away with it. And they control and dominate the industry.
How we hate to love em and love to hate em.

This does not work Srishti. There is an inherent fault when you click on the apply button after selection the illustrator.exe file as the default. You see it trying to action but then it just doesn't kick in. The same happens if you go to Windows Default program settings. Try to click on Illustrator 2019 and nothing happens. Now, Windows has no changed, only Illustrator has, so it is something in the way that Adobe have coded the software registry - it's like it isn't being recognised by Windows as a registered software application within Windows. My guess is someone at Adobe stuffed up the registry process on this latest version.

The solution provided does not work. I have tried changing the registry, tried assigning default in all the possible ways (including the version described here) and still it does not work. In fact now .ai files are struggling to open in Illustrator. This has only been happening since the 2019 update. There is most definitely a bug.

Hi there Magda, Well all I can say is this is pretty devastating to my business. Of course for you and the fantastic BC management team this must be a crushing blow for you as well. So let me say thank you to you all and I'm sorry you have had to endure this instruction from the Adobe board, from 'on high' no doubt. Now let me address the f-ing beast that is Adobe. This is TOTALLY unacceptable. I have been a Premium Partner for 10 years. In the last decade I have built my business on this platform. Agencies I have introduced have done the same. You can be sure that I and they will be joining any class actions that will arise out of this, we just need time to get organised. There will literally be tens of thousands of people - Agencies and end Clients alike - that are affected by this action, no less all of mine. The fact that you have not attempted to show that Business Catalyst could be sold or taken over by a company willing to continue it's development is incredulous. This system was started in the best interests of our industry, to develop community and progress online marketing with innovation - something truly great and you have squandered it. There is still no other system 'out there' that can compete with its full function set. Further, you have clearly shown you care nothing for us as Agencies and end clients, and nothing for the communities that have evolved within it. There are thousands of families and livlihoods that are affected by this. IT IS DISGUSTING. All in all, this is typical of a company that lacks a core value of business integrity and is a reflection of the men and women on the board who chose to make this to happen. Like any sizable listed Corporation, everyone knows that Adobe are driven by profit motive and the fact that the company would choose to be disloyal to 10,000s of supportive partners and stakeholders not only makes you untrustworthy, but your eclipsing and annexing of the marketing industry across globe with your products, now becomes more obvious, and must be in breach of fair-trading and anti-competition laws and should be challenged at the highest level. I personally won't trust Adobe ever again. I will join the many who have become ambassadors to see you brought down to size. I will be actively looking for and supporting your competition for alternative products across the board. I say to all users who sign up to Spark: BEWARE(!), Adobe will eventually abandon you as well - DON'T SIGN UP! There is no longevity or continuity here, it is driven by Adobe's greed for more and more profit and their commitment to themselves only. Shallow, hollow, shallow. It is just a matter of time before justice is visited on Adobe to redress this. I trust that multiple countries around the world take action, since there are so many counties and 10s of thousands of their hard-working citizens affected - good people squashed by the almighty Adobe. Sincerely Wayne Freeman

Good post there Robert. You know, Adobe turnover 2015 1.25billion with net profits of $150million. You'd think they could afford to buy the best coders to fix the problem for their most used and famous piece of software...

My question is: how is it possible that all other Adobe software work fine - Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, Dreamweaver all no problem...ONLY Photoshop has the issue. it is therefore NOT a windows problem - stop blaming Microsoft and fix your bloody software!

This has NOT been answered! I have the latest MSI laptop, 4k screen with GeForce graphics card, all other software works without a problem in Windows 8.1. It is ONLY Photoshop that does not work. This affects my work every day. Adobe have known about this issue for over 18 months. WORK IT OUT ADOBE!

By the way, we have also tried the 'External ID' field you get when exporting the WebApp items, but it seems you cannot search against this either.

We want to search against the unique key that is the ItemID on WebApp items. We cannot find any information on what this field name or item ID might be called (beyond the obvious ItemID which does not work when we've tried it) and therefore we cannot search WebApps using the most important field in the WebApp! I've chatted to two different support agents both of whom said they don;t know nor do they think it can be done because the system auto-assigns CAT_custom ID on this. Either the guys do not know what the system can actually do but I cannot believe that we cannot search against the WebApp Item IDs? Does anyone know the answer? As a matter of interest I note that ItemName and ItemDescription fields are called exacty that, and thus we can search against ItemName Help! Thanks Wayne

Hello, I had the same problem but when trying your fixes nothing worked. So hitting Shift+Ctrl-l didn't do anything and nor did going to View menu > Perspective Grid > Two Point Perspective > [2P-Normal View]. I'm still see the prespective grid on the page. Also, when I click on the 'x' on the Perspective tool icon, nothing happens. Where am I going wrong?

OK, the JS was working but the doc.write still wasn't quite working on my page reason being the layout CSS needed to be included in the document.write AND I had to hide the original span. As you can see I needed the time tag in situ and to display as DD/MMM (UK format). Here's the resulting code which is working - thanks Mario for this really helpful snippet! <span id="date{tag_counter}" style="display:none">{tag_releasedate}</span> <script type="text/javascript"> var originalDate = document.getElementById('date{tag_counter}').innerHTML; var dateBits = originalDate.split("-"); document.write("<time>" + dateBits[0] + "/" + dateBits[1] + "</time>"); </script> For anyone looking for a solution: this example is working in a WebApp

Thanks Mario. I have now dropped the code in after the date tag and using your: var originalDate = "{tag_releasedate}"; but still no joy, Its not working with var originalDate = document.getElementById('date{tag_counter}').innerHTML; either. http://communityvineyardmanchester.org.uk/index.html Any thoughts? <div class="pad1"> <time datetime="2013-01-01"><span id="date{tag_counter}">{tag_releasedate}</span> </time> <script type="text/javascript"> var originalDate = "{tag_releasedate}"; var dateBits = originalDate.split("-"); document.write(dateBits[1] + "/" + dateBits[0] + "/" + dateBits[2]); </script> <div class="text1">{tag_name}</div>{tag_description} </div>

Hi Mario, I've applied your code to a WepApp but I'm not getting any joy. Is it because I'm using {tag_releasedate} instead of {tag_eventfromdate}? Should this code be able to work in a WebApp? (I would have thought so). Here's the page: http://communityvineyardmanchester.org.uk/events.html Thanks Wayne

Hi Patrick, I had exactly the same question. After chatting to support I thought I would post here for everyone looking for help, since the Adobe docets don't make plain the answer to the questions below... Q: Is it necessary where emails are externally hosted? (i.e. DNS is external) A: Yes, you must add the SPF record if it does't already exist AND you must add the TXT record Q: Why is this necessary? A: "This will make sure the system emails from BC are considered as legitimate emails" for "...any system emails, workflows, invoices, or any other emails" going out from the system. Q: Will it interfere with the 3rd party email resource A: I don't know. I hope not. Best Wayne

Mario the code you provided me worked a treat! Thanks a million! For anyone reading this blog, Mario is my go to man for all things complex coding, check him out at www.twoblokeswithapostie.com The great thing is that I was able to take the WebApp function, bend it to my requirement and use JQuery to make it work on the other end. In case anyone wants to know, it is possible to store multiple checkbox input items as one dataset stored in one field and then output that (albeit with commas) in a way the JQuery could deal with the commas ...turning them into <br>s.

Hi Mario, unfortunately not resolved. The JQuery is working but the problem is that the WebApp is duplicating (repeating) the first webapp item data which is the: brilliant! excellent! really good✓ Each testimonial does actually have its own unique set of words/phrases but these are not appearing, presumably because of the combo of JQuery and CSS. Just wondered if anyone else has solved this when working with WebApps in the way? Thanks Wayne

Hello, I'm hoping someone could give me a hand! On this home page: www.largemouthfrog.net I am running a WebApp called 'Testimonials' which produces a string of words/phrases based on checkbox selected items. They come into the page as: <li>...<div class="testimonial-comments1">brilliant! ,excellent! ,really good </div>...</li> For each <li> there is a distinct set of words/phrases separated by a comma. I want to remove the comma and replace with <br> I have the following JQuery (see below) which replaces the comma with <br> BUT it takes the first <li> instance of <div class="testimonial-comments1"> and repeats it again and again for all the other <li>'s. In other words: "brilliant! ,excellent! ,really good" is duplicated repeatedly. I've tried putting the JQuery inside the List layout of the WebApp but this does the same thing. <script> $(document).ready(function() { var str = $(".testimonial-comments1").html().replace(/,/g, '<br>'); $(".testimonial-comments1").html(str); });; </script> Any help would be much appreciated!

You can also try this: <html> <head> <script> function off() { document.getElementById("hidethis").style.display = 'none'; } function on() { document.getElementById("hidethis").style.display = ''; } </script> </head> <body> <table> <tr> <td>Payment Type</td> <td><input type="radio" name="citizen" value="yes" onClick="on();"> Credit Card <input type="radio" name="citizen" value="no" onClick="off();"> PayPal </tr> </table> <table id="hidethis" style="display:none;"> <tr> <td>Put Credit Card input fields in this table section</td> </tr> </table> </body> </html>

I'm sharing this for those that are struggling with the date format in Excel ...where the date format changes such that BC cannot recognise start and release dates. This is because Excel uses the default date format that is set by the Operating System. So Windows OS by default will show the date as dd/mm/yyyy. The problem is with the / slashes. BC will only recognise date formats as: dd-mm-yyyy i.e. with hyphens. I spent hours searching until I found this article which solved the problem for me once and for all. This is the solution I found online, corrects the default date format affecting Excel: Solution: http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/excel-help/change-the-default-date-format-HP005285937.aspx I hope that helps!
