New discussion

This is a unnecessary step.

I know in which forum i am.

When i press New discussion i want the box to appear not some extra choices.

The "New" menu to the immediate left of "Your Stuff" has always done that - it's a generic menu and will present you with a list of all the places you've recently-been.

To create a new discussion in the forum you're currently viewing, use the "Start a discussion" link on the Actions box - in the dark gray area on the right.
