As you can see, I gave up trying to use a sensible screen name, and typed random characters. I would like to reset this, and my email address.

Is it me, or this this forum software terrible?

Your screen name comes from your Adobe ID and is not connected to the Forums. The forums pick up your name information when you log in. You have to go back to your Adobe ID to change your name.

Here are the steps for changing your user name at Adobe.com…

Go to http://www.adobe.com

Click on “Your account” at the very top of the page (near the red Adobe logo)

Sign in with your current Adobe ID (you should now be on the Your Account page)

Scroll down to the Account Information section

Click on Edit Your Account Information

Go to the Screen Name field, remove the current name, type in a new name

Click on the Update & Continue button at the bottom of the page

The next time you log into the Forums it will pick up and display your new name.

The screen name that shows on "Edit your Adobe account information" is my original screen name (nigelmercier), and this is what I see as I type this*. I wonder if I had somehow logged in under a very old username, but I didn't do anything different.

Please can the old account (whyFFSASFSFSF) be deleted.

* On posting the message, I see I am now logged in correctly.

You do have two accounts with different email addresses. Once (nigelmercier) was registered in April 2009 and has an email address that ends in org.uk. The other (whyFFSASFSFSF) was registered on Feb 25 of this year and has a virgin.net email address.

I have no idea why the whyFFSASFSFSF account using the virgin.net

account got accessed. I haven't used this email address for about 10 years!

I tried to log in using org.uk, and it asked for a screen name,

but wouldn't let me use nigelmercier.

You can delete the whyFFSASFSFSF / nigel.mercier@virgin.net account if you

wish.

I can't delete the account. But it will be dormant in the forums unless you sign in with it again.

I am going to delete your message (or at least your email addresses from it).

As far as I can tell, your org.uk email address is using nigelmercier as the screen name. I don't know why it would ask you to select a new screen name. Is this still happening? Nigelmercier is the name on the account you posted from.
