Slow, slow, slow (III) !

LEGEND ,
Mar 15, 2008 Mar 15, 2008
The thread with this name that was closed with no explanation did serve a useful purpose, so I am opening a new one to replace it.

Speed is back to normal now, and if there was a shutdown, I wasn't here to witness it.

>Don't ask me to explain why I had to do this.

Wouldn't dream of it. All I can say is that the changes last night were seamless for me this AM.

Well first post this morning and everything came up like it was supposed to.

Now the person that knows which server had the strange address sends stuff to me. Next time there is a slowdown or a hiccup, can now walk over and kick it in the side to make it work. :-)

You know, I recognize almost all of those words.

I'm just not sure what they mean when they're arranged like that.

Same here. Although, not being a native English speaker, I have my difficulties with "sen" and "whe", but I am too lazy to consult a dictionary in this case.

For a non-native speaker, Claudio, your grasp of the language is brilliant.

Perhaps better than my own.

Claudio,

Around here, you never have to apologize for your grasp of English.

BTW, those two "words" you gave as examples are typos/sloppy typing. Don't worry about them. I still have no clue what he means.

Yes they were sloppy typing. the sen should have been *send*, whe should have been when.

what is meant by the sentence is now that I reported the problem of the bad URL for the threads/post involved; the person responsible for the operation of that particular server, now knows that sever servers the Mid-Atlantic Region and Virginia in Particular. Now that he or she knows which one it is.; should now be able to go into that server and correct the problems that occur when I receive slowdowns or bad URL Links to forum post.

Can you understand any better now?

Use a spelling checker at least, pj. And proofread before posting.

Slow NNTP access today, with a few posts just disappearing.

I used a spell checker. ;-)

Even the one built in check in the forum would not have caught the mistake though. ;-)

Should have been Though not Through. And I proofed it as well.

pj,

Unfortunately a spell checker can't catch homonyms, syntax error, or the like.

I notice that tonight, the pages are coming up fast but not loading completely right away.

I'll get the first couple of posts in a long thread but it'll take about 5 seconds more to load the rest of the page.

Still better than it was though.

We just tried to buy two upgrade licenses for an Adobe product off their website.

The site proceeded to tell us we've improperly entered our VAT ID#.

You know, that Value Added Tax ID#...That you would've entered if you were in the EUROPEAN UNION.

We're here in plain ol' Maryland, USA.

And yes, we've triple checked our settings, the store we're entered into, etc.

The fact the site gives you faulty error information is just lousy. The fact it takes a minute to load pages to even get back to the shopping cart (still with noisy frills, swf/motion graphics, etc) is just maddening.

Terrible.

Keith,

These forums have nothing to with the admittedly pathetic Adobe store. You are not addressing Adobe here either, just your fellow users.

Not only that... this is the place to discuss the FORUMS themselves, not to obtain (other user) support for a product
