Damn the jive a$$ hamster is slower than the old Webx hamster. I've been logged out of the forum while waiting to get in.

that is weird.

    Correct answer

Since the page load times from here (UK) can vary between 3 seconds and 30 seconds, I fail to see the relevance of the server location.

It seems to be more dependent on the time of day if anything.

In any case, the slow speed and the logging out (3 times today so far) make this a totally pathetic effort at a user to user forum.

It's hard to express the magnitude of the blunder Adobe has made, without resorting to bad language.

... and we said it wouldn't work!

... and we said it wouldn't work!

And we got sworn at and were insulted for having the temerity to say it; and were told to give the new format a chance … but we couldn't have been more right:

Adobe's pig-headed dive into Jive has destroyed their Forums irreparably.

Just looking-in in the hope of seeing some trace of improvement … and promptly checking-out again ….

Move to Seattle. Lightning fast here. Rarely more than 2.5 seconds, usually much faster, to go from any page to another, post a message, etc.

I hardly wait more that 2-5 seconds for page to load from kicking in from email Notifications.

But once loaded up typing is normal. I use a 1 Mb upload/download DSL connection. But I am actually typing from a Airport connection (801.2n).

Yep.  Slow again at unpredictable times and for unpredictable durations.

very very slow. east coast usa. and even after the page looks loaded. the loading icon on a ff tab keeps spinning, like it's still trying to load ... something.

    status bar reads...

    "Waiting for wwwimages.adobe.com..."

    yes,  wwwimages. one word.

    Thanks alot for explaining that.

    no problem graf.

    April 28, 2009

The actual page loading is much improved for me on FF but it is intermittently bad.

This now proves how poor the navigation in this Jive rubbish is compared to WebX.

    Remember WebX?

Aaaaahh,  those were the days when participating in these forums used to be a pleasure not a pain.

I'm still waiting for the magical forum fairies to come and make everything "off the shelf" better and faster, like we were promised early on when told to give them a chance to "optimize" this POC.

    ...But these forums still Suck!

    April 25, 2009

Well whatever they did yesterday seems to have helped the speed. (Fingers crossed.)

But being the weekend, I suppose traffic's down.

Really. Instead of an ellipsis, they should have a question mark after that.

my connection is 20Mb/s... insane speeds... and i still find the forums painfully slow or even doesnt load pages.  adobe needs better hosting to support this.

Now I see what is wrong

adobe.hosted.jivesoftware.com resolves as 209.46.39.53 which, according to ws.arin.net is assigned to Famous Dave's of America, Inc. (https://ws.arin.net/whois/?queryinput=!%20NET-209-46-39-0-1).

I conclude from that bit of information that we are being slow-cooked and will be turned into barbecue sandwiches or ribs in a few days

That's not what I got and from where I am it's only 12 hops and 91 ms was the longest average. I got a different IP of 209.46.54.37 which is hosted by SunGuard VeriCenter.

SunGuard is correct. But that is not the first reference I've seen to "Famous Dave's" in performance discussions here.
