Why here, not there?

Why this new set of forums instead of carrying on where everyone expects/expected to have news about the forum changes, namely:
http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bc0fb97/

Hopefully, all the valuable information in this thread has not been forgotten:

Thanks 10 million, John!

(And yes, I still have to log back in if I shut down Firefox. Will be spelunking my cookies files directly)

:)

ann and kath, did you follow jj's suggestion to add adobeforums.com to the exceptions list? that's a workaround not a fix. that might explain why your systems are behaving differently.

It's not really a problem for me now dave, thanks - I can shut down and I stay logged in. I wouldn't normally quit my browser(s), it was just an experiment.

Adobeforums is excepted in Firefox, but still I have to log in after closing the browser.

If I reboot the machine with the browser OPEN and then launch the browser, I don't have to log in. If I then close the browser and reopen it, I have to log in.

(Linux, Firefox.)

Same here - Firefox and Safari. Bizarre but livable.

I posted up top, but this is a good place to add it. i didn't do any special exceptions or anything by my work machine's firefox (3.0.6) doesn't require logon, but my home (same ver) still does. the home machine is the one i did the combine id thing on. maybe THAT has something to do with it.

also just double checked... my ie6 install on this work box also does NOT need to log in. an old link takes me right into the ps windows forum.

Don't think so, I'm permanently logged in 3 places, obviously I only linked on one of them.
